The blue healer (Dog) in the movie is a true character and true to his breed., especially when he's on the look out for any thing to play tug-o-war or jump up and grab. The behavior of Dog with the Gyro Captain in the dried creek bed is a classic and probably shows that Bruce S and Mel G for that matter had developed a good relation with him. When the dog goes in to protect Max in the compound and Max grabs him, watch the dog check who has grabbed hold of him, I recon Mel could have lost his nose if they wearnt on good terms.
I had a bluey who rode in the front of the ute on special days, she would watch for corners and intersections and spread her legs and get ready for the change of directions. She was tops at leaning into fast corners, but if there was not much going on (or the road got a bit too rough), she would camp down in the passengers foot well until another interesting smell came through the vents.....
