You could be right on Tom Burke...

I already have a theory (just wild guessing) about him and Furiosa:
together they are building a team under Immortan Joe -both are wearing the black face paint- and eventually they fall in love.
It happens that during a supply run Burkes character gets killed by someone, maybe Dementus himself, and Furiosa wants her revenge (...)

I was wondering who the woman with the skull motorcycle helmet is...Maybe Furiosas mother or one of the Vuvalinis ??

The timeline inconsistencies and obvious overuse of CGI are bothersome. But to be fair, it will be hard to top either Fury Road or The Roadwarrior, and the sort of stunts done in the first Mad Max film are not legally allowed to be replicated today., so my expectations aren't high. I'm almost certain it will be a better film than Beyond Thunderdome.

I'm really looking forward to Mad Max: The Wasteland.

I got a feeling this will feature more drama and less action.
The overuse of CGI is a buzz killer, sadly.
This look to be close in style to 3000 years of longing which was a CGI fest.

The first draft Fury Road trailer was ropey and got revised a couple of times, so I'll be patient and wait and see ... the studio edits the trailers so they often don't like up with the movie much, and we already know they built lots of real vehicles for this, so fingers crossed the CGI is a placeholder (because damn it looks more wooden than a Trojan Horse).

I'm hoping that the hyperbolous opening "this is her Odyssey" and the overwrought "will you make it epic?" are pointing towards Miller going for a Homer's Odyssey / The Iliad structure or scale or homage.

Hope for the best, plan for the worst. I REALLY want it to be good.

Someone mentioned in a comment on YT the real reason why the film used so much CGI was that many vehicles for the film got destroyed during production by a big flood in Australia, so they decided to shoot on a soundstage to avoid production delays.

Does anyone have any insider informations about that matter ?

That's you. We are obviously free to talk about what we want.

I honestly don't understand the fuss over the cgi. I think it looks great even if it is what the final product will look like.

Can't say I was anticipating this film in the first place, but I certainly didn't expect it to be yet another green screen flying cgi Marvel multiverse piece.

Probably would have seen it before the trailer dropped, as I don't dislike Anya Taylor Joy half as much as Charlize Theron. Had the production been on a par with FR it probably would have been watchable. I just can't sit through any more of that MCU/DCU style crap that seems to be all there is today. I'm sure it'll do fine in the box office... they wouldn't keep producing it if it weren't profitable, right?
