Turn 10 has announced the 1973 Ford XB Falcon GT will be included in the Forza Motorsport 4 car roster. The inclusion of the XB marks the first time a classic Australian muscle car has been included in the series.

The car, famous for its role in Mad Max as Max's iconic Pursuit Special and the Eric Bana documentary Love the Beast, will join other antipodean automobiles like the HSV W427, Joss JT1 and at least two 2011 V8 Supercars in the game.

The XB actually featured in a list of 120 vehicles shortlisted last year by car culture website Jalopnik and Turn 10. The list resulted in a special community-voted DLC pack, the last pack released for Forza 3. The XB did not make the final 10 at the time but has, like some other cars from this list, since gone on to be afforded a spot in Forza 4. This 120-car list included three other Australian cars yet to be discussed again to date.

I like to hear the inclusion of Australian muscle cars in a mainstream game. suddenly my preorder is assured on this title. plus if they have kept the paint scheme editing then we could finaly make mad max or road warrior paint jobs. this is big IMO. something to look forward to in gaming.

don't know yet but I plan to buy the game maybe I'll probably do a review for this site. I am curious what other unnamed aussie classics will make it into the game. I'm just stoked to be a mainstream game where a falcon was specificly made by the desiners of the game and the fact that we can do custom paint work...or at least we used to be able to do paint work thus far in the series not sure I see them scrapping that now.

Why won't they include the Falcon in GT5?! All we get is multiple versions of thr same car and they are all CRAP!

"This 120-car list included three other Australian cars yet to be " who says they won't be including it. and considering Us yanks have yet to see or drive a comercialy made racing game with a ford falcon in it (that also has custom paint job abilities built in.) this is exciting news for us american mad max fans. first the hot wheels came now this. I am excited either way but do hope more aussie cars get represented since I am a huge fan of aussie body styles and kits.

I have paid off my forza 4 pre-order. didn't get the fancy special editions as the falcon and the other 3 unannouced cars should be in the game irreguardles. anyways in exactly 10 days from now the game hits american shores and I shall be picking it up along with a new aliens ds game based around the second movie in the aliens saga. as soon as I have unlocked the cars I shall report to you all that I know about forza 4 and the australian cars featured there in. just so excited about this game and the falcon being included.

A huge update and DLC is coming to GT5 this month! *crosses fingers for a Falcon and Bathurst*

To be honest I'm not expecting much, GT will probably just put out a GTi or Ghia version of some car they already have in the game and call it a new car.

UPDATE: the demo does NOT contain the ford falcon. I found a place that has the demo for download and burn and you don't need a modded xbox 360 to play it once you burn it. they have a car unlock for the demo but the closest thing to a falcon in the demo's unlock,is a mach one mustang (yes I know that's not really close at all.) still the rest of the info above is correct with the exception of the car list. I have founded an undated car list with pictures for most cars (and apparently they went wild with the 2011 holdens from what I have seen of in garage shots.) will post that link later today.
