Found this on another board posted by someone going by '3legs'. Make of it what you will. I personally think it's legit.
Stopped at a truck stop somewhere in NSW and spied these vehicles under tarps trying hard not to be noticed. When I asked the truckie what they are he said he is transporting them to Silverton for the new Mad Max movie which is about to commence shooting. While he went for a piss I took some shots. Unfortunately I could only get the under sides of the vehicles but I can tell you they are huge and a lot of engineering went into them and there is some serious horsepower being produced by one of them (twin v8 engine).

One is a tracked vehicle and check out the cowcatcher on the front of one of them. There were 4 vehicles in total.

Sorry I couldn't get anymore photos but time was limited.

There were also a few comments of interest that followed.
Matt: Nice find 3 legs.

One of the inmates here is involved with the production/special effects.....I think.

Therefore with ADV input it WILL be a classic.

-----------------

K0diak: Matt: I wish I could comment. Went to see the workshop about 2 months ago, enough to say the whole group had an enormous grin on their face the whole day. Some insane builds both two and four wheels (and more) and if the movie is anything as good as the vehicles, it will be a classic.

-----------------

Gimme 2: In my Flinders rr you can see the roads they are building at Mundi Mundi Station, we tried to get thru to cobar but , the station owner's got some kinda cancer and well, his son doe'snt want to have even more work shutting gate's when idiot's don't shut em , so he said flat out NO.

Apparently they are not shooting because it's too green out there.

And there're doing 4 and 5 at the same time

Drool. Those few photos have me interested. Don't know if that's a Caddie, but it looks American to me. :D

Those machines look great. I wonder what that vehicle with tracks looks like.

Looks awesome, and yes, its a Cadillac, a '59 to be specific. Hope it's really for Fury road :)

I hope the movie isn't flooded with American cars instread of Aussie ones.
Sure some are tough, but I'd rather see majority of the cars being from here.

... that's a SERIOUS drive train for a 1959 Cadillac. Those axles look like Rockwell military issue. Would LOVE to see what's on top of the tracks.

This is part of my vision here, and don't worry guys, there were a few yank tanks in the originals...

My take.

The Cadillac would indicate that at least a part of the film takes place earlier in the franchise. I don't see how such a machine, not to mention the other gasoline powered, blown-engined vehicles, would make sense in a petroleum-starved post-Thunderdome world. And then there's the Interceptor...

The tires. Big ones, even on the Caddy. This would indicate off-road chase scenes. As in, no asphalt.

Not sure what to make of the tracked vehicle. That thing ain't gonna move fast at all, so I can't imagine it will be used in any of the "at speed" chase sequences. Perhaps it'll be something used to putter around sand dunes.
