This looked to me a bit like the one Max Carries in Thunderdome:

Arrrr?
Nice one. Looks like a quality piece for a good price. Note, though, the CA requirement for a "presentation case" or some BS.
I am so ready to leave this state.

Re: MM3 Thunderdome-style sawed off shotgun on eBay
I've never heard of a regulation like that for CA and I thought I was pretty familiar with the regulations here.
I noticed this company also sells frames and display cases... Hmmm, maybe someone is trying to use CA's notoriously strict firearms reputation to make a bit of extra money...
It is a good replica for the price though, and though the auction doesn't say it, I see in some of their other listings that this gun definitely is wood and metal and not plastic. Too bad it's not MM2 accurate or I'd be picking one up.
(On a side note, I recently learned that despite their restrictive firearms laws, CA has some of the most permissive laws dealing with carrying tasers.)

Unfortunately, the display requirement appears legit:
Same wording on various other replica sites.

CALIFORNIA and KANSAS: Dealers warrant that shipments are made in compliance with state law.
Imitation Firearms, regardless of date, may only be shipped:

Solely for lawful use in theatrical productions; or
For use in certified sporting events or competitions; or

For public display authorized by public or private school
