wrist crossbow

I'm looking to make a wrist crossbow similar to Wez's. I'm not necessarily looking to make a functional crossbow or even a replica of Wez's, however I would like to make something that is "in principal" a working unit. By nature, I believe Wez's crossbow in the movie was more for Hollywood looks and in fact probably would not have worked very well due to the fact that the bow isn't very big. I have to wonder if it really even worked at all, but the key is to making somthing that kinda works and is simi-functional. I've bought some aluminam stock and have a few ideas, anyone make anything cool they would like to share?

Well I made these...








The bow in the first pic is surprisingly hard to cock... I don't know if you could blow out a semi truck tire with it, but it would definitely do some damage. The spring gun would totally work, but I have no idea what kind of accuracy you'd get out of it. The key to them is the trigger (mine are non-functional). Making a safe, reliable trigger would be the hardest part, IMHO.

I saw yours Humvee Driver, yours is definatly my inspiration thus far I am also using a soccer shin guard and purchased some aluminum stock, I'm a bit puzzled as to how I want to do my trigger mechanism though I don't know how Wez's is set up, I can't tell from the screen caps. What the heck is all the bent rods on the top toward the back Wez's, what purpose do they serve, and how does his hold tension and shoot
