Cheap Shotgun Replicas in Aus

Post by N1ck284 »

I've looked high and low, but the best source I can find for mad max replicas that are Australia-legal are the expensive resin replicas. I've pondered actually building my own, but I thought I'd see if you guys have any ideas?

For those that don't know, all airsoft guns are illegal here. I know, it's bullshit.

How expensive are the resin replicas? Where do you buy those?
I've only heard of one place that was making those and I think maybe they were in the UK.

Can you have blank firing cap guns in Australia? Because the Hudson gun still shows up on eBay regularly it seems (here in the U.S. anyway). They're not cheap, but can sometimes be had for less than $200. Don't know how that compares to the resin ones as far as price goes, but at least you'd have a gun that can go bang.

That 5YLAC place in the UK sells an unfinished resin model for 50 pounds. I'm almost tempted...

That's the one I was thinking of. Couldn't remember the details. Thanks for the link.

Nick, if you want to go REALLY cheap, there is a double barrel Nerf shotgun some people have used. It won't look accurate (even after modification and painting) but it is still kinda cool looking when done right. If you do a search here you'll find pics of one that Madmaximages modified a while back (topic is $15 wasteland shotgun).

I'm assuming a Nerf gun would not be considered an airsoft gun by Australian authorities, but who knows.

be careful.

a starwars fan was arrested in melbourne last year for having a trooper blaster in his backpack poking out while he was wandering around the streets.

remember victorian cops have no sense of humour and are renowned for shooting first and then saying stop.

Amen to that,
Ive had similar problems trying to get the weapons. After much searching it came down to kids toys.
A friend in the States sent me a toy shotgun and 44 magnum from Kapowwe.com and they will do until i can
come up with something else, its very hard to find even the stock of a shotgun, but thats the plan. Here is the toy shotgun and
minor mods i made, not great but does the job for now.

I also found a source for fake police batons that are pretty accurate, dirt cheap and legal. Heres a pic and the link.

You can also get accurate three link cheap handcuffs from Ebay UK.
Hope this helps anyone in Oz needing to get some gear together, legally.

I'd buy that shotgun straight away, but kappowe refuse to ship anywhere but the US, and I don't know anyone that lives in the USA.

Ah well, I guess I'll have to keep searching.

Im sure if you ask nice, one of our American cousins can help you out, no problems getting in and if you can,
get the 44 magnum, very cheap and has the same markings on the grips as Maxs

Yes, it says Navy Seal. There are a few toy ones out there that are much more accurate but they all seemed to be sold out
when i was looking so this one had to do. Ive managed to get most of the parts needed to put a close to real as possible shotgun
together, triggers, gaurd etc, just having trouble finding a stock.
