prop replica help needed
A couple of weeks ago I came across a site that had replica dog food can and boomerang for sale. Now,I can't find it! Can someone point me in the right direction? Thank you!!! P.S. Or ANY replics!
Re: prop replica help needed
Or if someone can get me a good clear pic of the can. I have a friend who makes James Bond replica props! He could make me one easy!

I don't know about the site with the replica dog can and the boomerang.
I can send you an HD screenshot of the dog food label springleaf (another member here) grabbed for me. It's too big to post here so if you send me a PM I'll email it to you.
A LOT of people have made replica Dinky Di cans over the years, so they're sort of a dime a dozen. However, I've never seen one totally accurate down to the last detail so if you know somebody that wants to make one, go for it. (there are other old threads here containing a pretty good replica label that you can download - a friend made it for me so I posted it to share).
Here are a few of the little details to get a Dinky Di can really right:
1. The color of the red and green on the label should match that in the movie. This is tricky since computer monitors and printers can introduce color shifts to the printing process.
2. There two sections of fine print, (ingredients, nutritional information etc. we assume) one on each side of the can. It's not all that legible in the screenshots, but some fine print that approximates it would be good.
3. The can is marked 800g. If the can in the movie is really an 800g size can (and not just labeled that way) it will be tough to get the correct size can, at least here in the U.S.. The standard food can here is 300-400g so people often make the replica too small. When I did mine I found some family size cans of refried beans that were about 850g, so they were a little too big, but closer at least.
And for anyone who doesn't know already, it's pronounced Dinky Die, not Dinky Dee (I used to get it wrong).
As for any other replicas, there's plenty of stuff out there. If you're thinking of something specific, look around the old posts on this part of the forum and you just might find someone has already found it or is even currently making it. I don't know of someone currently making the boomerang, but there are a few out there of varying quality. And of course we have someone on this board who owns one of VERY good quality (that would be Emile himself).

Here's one, not 100% screen accurate, but pretty good.

If you could email me the pic at [email protected] I will see what my friend can do! He is an expert at making Bond replicas. He not only makes replica gadgets, but paper products also! He has alot of connections overseas. He will only make a screen accurate product! Thanks a million!!!

Re: prop replica help needed
I will be starting a boomerang replica shortly. I will post some pics as I go.

Just copy and save pic (save picture as...) and it should save to your computer in the correct size to print out for a standard can.

I think you were talking to me based on my earlier offer. The HD pics have been sent (3 pics that show the front of the can and the two different sides with fine print). Just be sure to post for us whatever you come up with so that we can download that label as well - and critique ittracywb wrote:If you could email me the pic at [email protected] I will see what my friend can do! The label above is okay, but none of that text on it is accurate, so just bear that in mind (also the dog's eyes are the wrong color for some strange reason).
Some better labels have been posted in the past if you dig around for them (no offense to TK4013 as we here at the board certainly appreciate the gesture and the fast response to try and help someone out)

No offense taken
I'd love to get a better version myself! BTW what color are the eyes supposed to be? I'd like to correct that with photoshop.
