UPDATED: Accurate Road Warrior / MM2 shoulder plate replica

UPDATE - AS OF MAY 2011 THERE IS A NEW RUN OF PLATES AVAILABLE. SEE PAGE 2 OF THIS THREAD.
AND THE PRICE HAS BEEN DROPPED TO $30.
Karol and I are proud to announce that one of the most requested Mad Max costume items is now finally available as a resin replica.
THE ROAD WARRIOR SHOULDER PLATE
What Mad Max costume item is more iconic than Max's shoulder plate from MM2? The problem is, the vintage Rawlings shoulderpads from that time period are getting very hard to find on eBay, and even when they are found, they rarely come with the correct plate. (Even the recently unearthed pair of rare Rawlings ER-46 shoulder pads that sold on eBay for $82 didn't come with a screen accurate plate!)
In fact, of all of the fan costumes we've seen over the years, only one or two had the right shoulder plate.
(If you're reading this you probably have already seen Karol's shoulder plate guide, but if not, go here: http://www.madmaxcostumes.com/pads.htm)
Well, we finally managed to source two correct plates and made a mold from the one that had just the right mold shape and slight wear to it. We've used a special high quality white resin that is super strong and has about the same flex to it as the real plate (I wouldn't recommend actually playing football with this plate, but it will NEVER break under normal costume use - we did a test one just to try breaking it)
This item uses more resin than our other replicas and the mold was very expensive and time consuming to make because of the size and shape of the plate. But we are trying to keep costs down for you guys, so right now we are only charging $35 (EDIT: As of 5/30/11 they are now only $30) per plate.
PLEASE NOTE: This is the plate only. You will still need some shoulderpad arch padding to strap it to to make the complete Mad Max shoulderpad that you can then rivet to your jacket. (see this tutorial if you haven't already: http://www.madmaxcostumes.com/maxpad.htm )
But that's the beauty of it. You can buy this accurate plate and then pretty much use any arch padding from a common, cheap pair of pads (or just make your own. Or... wait to see if Karol just might start offering some custom made arch pads...)
The plate comes fully prepped, sanded and painted with flat black primer. Ready to wear.
Not to mention the fact that we've saved you the effort of actually having to remove the plate from a pair of pads (and if you've ever paid for a full set of pads, plus the high shipping on those pads, just to get the plate, you'll be extra thankful for this item).
ORDERS - Send me a PM to get my paypal address for your $30 payment (or just send me an email inquiry if you already know my email). Shipping costs will depend on where you live.
Right now we only have a couple of them ready to go and I'm trying to keep those set aside for folks that might want them for Road Warrior Weekend (in less than a week.) Since I'll be at the event, I can just hand it to you then (but you'd need some leather straps and riveting tools to attach it to your padding and jacket).
All other orders will be pre-orders that should be filled in 2-3 weeks (We're too busy prepping for RWW to get any more ready this week.)
Here are some pics of an unpainted white resin plate, and the finished black version.
