Hi all,
Spoke to a few people at the Ford coupe show in Echuca.
I own LTS Systems “formerly known as Locktronic Systems” which began manufacturing sirens in the late 70’s.
The original founder of the company designed, patented and built the first siren system which was unique and distinctive with a true emergency sound, which became recognized all over Australia. We have just undergone a renewed patended on our distinct siren sound.
The first model produced was the LTS500PR a single box unit with Wail, Yelp and Mix with PA and Radio Re-Broadcast functions.
The LTS sound became the standard Australian siren sound, and was installed into almost all types of emergency response vehicles such as Police, Fire, and Ambulance etc.
It was also used in films and TV shows from Mad Max to the current Channel 10 show Rush.

I have added the link to our site, it is changing but the link will remain the same.

W also carry the self contained 12V Air Horn as used in the intercept.

Must be hung over. I can't locate the air horn on the page (and no it's not a nautilus- I have one of those and it sounds different, and despite what the manufacture claims, it is not 115db)

Yeah, I got that page, but I can only see the "Stebel Nautilus Compact Air Horn"mack tanker wrote:On the left it is listed sirens & horns

I have that, and I can assue you, it isn't the same sound as the one in the movie, nor is it as loud as the manufacturer claims (I have 3 of them mounted to get a decent noise above the sound of the engine)

Re: LTS Sirens
I want to get a siren kit for my Falcon but what LTS system do i get that sounds movie correct? I like the simplicity and price of the fist and second one listed but will it sound right? Im not worried about it being as loud as an actual emergincy vehical,Or having the PA option, just fun for car shows. I never thought about the Interceptor having an air horn i guess it sounds like it has one in the movie was it proven that it actually had one and not just dubbed in sound

I think the point is that the movie cars didnt have sirens (and maybe even not the airhorn) but if you want all the sights and sounds of the film in your replica you add these details.

Re: LTS Sirens
The horn you hear on the Interceptor would be the two tone horns fitted to the GT as standard in those days.MadMatt wrote:I want to get a siren kit for my Falcon but what LTS system do i get that sounds movie correct? I think after 30yrs that the circuit boards and drivers would be a little more compact and more modern?MFP1 wrote: I have a inquiry in with hem about that same thing, which one is the original one "Used in the film" and is the exact model still available or what is the current equivelent.

All the models they sell have the same combined yelp and wail sound. So it wont matter which version you buy.
It all depends on what extras you want?
One with a PA system would be needed in the sedan (so you can yell "Hey fella stop!"). In the coupe the simplest version without the PA would be suited.
Be aware that you can not install the "full size" speaker anywhere on the car as there is no room for it.
The slimline speaker is the only choice and it can be located on the front crossmember just behind the bumper for maximum noise projection.
We are 100% snafu....
Re: LTS Sirens
What you can do is get two speakers, and remove the horn, so you just have the driver part. They will fit behind the grill with a bit of swearing. Removing the horn does stop the dispersion of sound a little, but that's why you need two.roadwarriormfp wrote:MadMatt wrote: Be aware that you can not install the "full size" speaker anywhere on the car as there is no room for it.
