Hello,
I am new on this board and looking for some advise from fellow Mad Max enthusiasts. A month ago I was chillen in my house with a good friend and we were doing some weight lifting in my basement. He notice these shoulder pads and he almost lost it! He offer me $100 immediately and I knew right away something was up. Like I said he's a good guy so he told me about the whole Mad Max deal and how this is the holy grail. Then he offer me $150 and that's when I lost it because this guy is one of the cheapest bastards around.
I told him I'll think about but I really wanted sometime to do some investigation. I stumble into this website and the shoulder pads write up and I found out that indeed these are super rare. I am a Mad Max fan and have all three movies which I watch every year but I am not as hardcore as most people here. In any case I spoke to my friend again and told him I am about to put it on ebay because I could use the money. He said that's cool and understand because he knows my current situation, not to mention I told him I'll give him 20% finders fee. He said he seen this pads go for $350, which I can't believe but he said the guy who bought it spend $1000 on a Mad Max jacket so this was nothing to him as he wanted to build a authentic movie outfit.
So. . . I was also thinking with this whole situation happening and Halloween around the corner I want to be The Road Warrior for Halloween.
My questions is does anybody in this forum want to trade a really good Mad Max costume and cash for these pads? or do you think I should just throw it on Ebay and see what I can get for them?

InterceptorX,
No offense, but I'm going to take this whole story with a grain of salt. It's always suspicious when someone claiming to be a fan suddenly joins the forum in order to offer a supposedly rare or film-used piece in exchange for lots of money or goods.
As the storehouse of all Mad Max costume knowledge, very little escapes my radar. If a fan bought a set of ER-46's for $350, I would have heard about it. The idea that someone would have done that outside of my knowledge, and would have paid that ridiculous price for them, is hard to swallow.
If you're for real, throw them on eBay and post the auction link here.

Re: Rawlings ER-46 Shoulder Pads
Karol,
I am a fan but not to the extreme of getting into a forum and talking about it. I just watch the films on a yearly basis as I am a movie buff and this is one of my favorite concepts. In any case my situation has led me to the research of this pads, google search led me to that article and that website has led me to this forum.
Just thought to join and obtain more information and thoughts from people who have more knowledge on this, most likely i'll throw the pads on ebay and scracth the halloween idea. thanks!

Great! You can also post pics of the pads here. If they are the real deal, I'm sure two or three of us would offer you something - just not anything near $350. A few hardcore fans might be willing to pay that much for a high-quality shotgun replica, but no one will pay that much for even the most accurate of shoulder pads.

Yes, if these pads are the real deal we would love to have some pictures of them for our files. And some of us may bid some money for them.
Good luck to you if you can get over $150, but don't get your hopes too high. The problem is, unlike some other items that are very hard to find or create, ER-46 pads can be "created" pretty easily by modifying similar pads costing less than $50 (sometimes far less).
But hey, if you can show us some pictures of ER-46 pads that would be as good an intro to this forum as I've ever seen. Welcome.

Ik zie boba fett nergens.
I can't see boba fett anywhere (English translation).
And I know. I'm also a fan of star trek .

"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.
