Sure could get alot better for the same money just shipping it over.. $3500 for freight leaves $3500 to buy a car... I think a rusty, dented, needing trim, 6 cyl,etc 4 door would be a tad cheaper to find then that.

Won't even get into thier rusty and incomplete coupe for $15k

$3500 freight - $3500 car (provided you can find one in oz - 87.50 dollars tax - all the other legal mumbo jumbo in order to get it road legal / worthy. Call me a fool, but that 7k sounds quite reasonable to me for a drivable sedan which is already residing in the USA. Even IF you really have to spend at least 10k for a us V8 drive train. Because a 6 cylinder just don't cut it.

10K?
That's a lot of motor & trans..

Salvage yard option..
This is what I'd planned to do for my Fox-Chassis Capri project - (My prices are several years out of date... I Gave up on the project when I found out the wife was expecting.)

I'll recheck 'em & Update later today.

5.0 out of a 2000 Ford explorer (GT40P) - $500 or so.
T-5 five speed Trans - $700 or so.
ECU - $150 or so
Stand-alone wire harness - Er... I'll have to guess... $250?

I'm told the combo can make a Fox Mustang or Capri Highly entertaining - If no match for Bart's Gremlin.
(Fords Drool, AMC's RULE) ;)

I would not settle for your run of the mill 302 V8, that's why I said 10k. You got to at least have some power to match the interceptor badging on the back!
