Its that time of the year...

Post by muldan »

For the past few years I've made it my mission on Halloween to dress up as some obscure (well for modern highschoolers anyway) character. Shaun from Shaun of the Dead, The Highlander from The Highlander, so on and so on. So this year I picked Max (Road Warrior version) and I was wondering if anyone could give me hints on how to make a cheaper costume, specifically how to get leather (or more likely pleather) pants and jackets.

That's not a totally accurate jacket (as the auction says) but it's not a bad start, especially if you want an inexpensive Halloween costume. $25 would be a steal if no one else bids. You might even consider doing the $60 buy it now option. Because otherwise you'd have to buy a used jacket somewhere, plus buy a set of shoulder pads to modify (probably on ebay, which means you have to factor in shipping).

If you look through this forum, you'll see some threads by people that have done costumes on the cheap. I did a thread myself about my Halloween costume from a few years ago. It was a long thread with a lot of pictures detailing what I did and how much I paid.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
