"One of the Living" movie version

Post by MFP 2020 »

Does anyone have (or have sauce for) the more aggro movie version of Tina Turner's "One of the Living"?

In almost 20 years of looking i wasn't able to find it. Seems that that version is only available with the DVD/HD-DVD/Blu-Ray edition of the movie.

*EDIT*

is this the version you mean? Sounds pretty close to the one from the movie 8-)

*RE-EDIT*
ITS THE VERSION OF THE MOVIE!!!!
I could probably make it on my own, but I like you kids.

No, that's still the soundtrack version.

Here, I just ripped the audio from the DVD and added metadata in iTunes:

If it doesn't work, here's the raw ripped file:

The fidelity isn't great, but it's more than what you had five minutes ago, right? :D

When you say the fidelity isn't great is that because of the way you ripped it? the way you encoded it? or the way it just is on the DVD?

Because if it's either of the first two maybe I'll try extracting it for myself.

Thanks!

I ripped it from the DVD using Handbrake and then stripped out the video with QuickTime using maximum audio settings. Compared to the version I just bought from iTunes, it has lower volume and less separation, and sounds "soft" overall (as in "not crisp"). It doesn't sound as good as the DVD, but then, the DVD sounds much worse than the single. FWIW.

MadMaxImages,
I just ripped it from the DVD using AudioHijackPro. It goes directly from the DVD soundtrack to mp3, so no intermediary steps. Definite sound improvement. No loss in sound quality from the DVD stereo track. But the DVD stereo track is not as good as the soundtrack CD version as you've said.

I ripped it as a 320k mp3 so there's essentially no difference between this and what's on the DVD. Since this version of the song is unreleased, this is the best possible version we can get at the moment. Let me know if you want me to email it to you. (it's about 4.5 megs)

The only way we'll get a better version is if at some point there is a soundtrack (official or otherwise) version found. Or if the movie is put out on bluray someday, maybe I'll try to rip that version.

Also, bear in mind that this version is only about 2 min, whereas the soundtrack version clocks in at 6 min.

I've actually got that 12" single in a box in the basement. Bought it when it first came out played it a few times then my record player got retired.

Sad thing is I have no way of trasnfering vinly music into a digital format.

Anyway big thanks to Jwrites for doing this and for madmaximages for uploading it to rapidshare. I downloaded it fine and listened to it on my MP3 player yesterday, played it over and over again. Damn fine song it is too.

Thanks again fellas.
