The mini Sydney reunion - screening of Mad Max went well. There were about 75 people there to see the movie and hear, Grant Page, Chris Murray, Dale Bensch and Nic Gazzana talk about making the movie and answer fan questions. Emil Minty was also there to meet the fans. Dirk arrived in Sydney at 6.30am that morning after a 27 hour journey. Sadly I didnt take many pictures myself but I saw lots being taken so I hope they make it here. I will post what I have soon.
The stars gave freely of their time and spoke openly about the making of the movie. Chris Murray showed the home movie that appeared at Little River about the nightrider rocket stunt and explained how it was done. Dale bought the helmet and jumper he wore on screen. Grant talked about the deleted scenes and the Kirk's Bridge and caravan stunt. We saw the toecutter's helmet complete with dummy eye popping face which was shown by Tim Ridge. Tim and Gary also previewed their upcoming "Madness of Max" dvd which included interviews with Mel, George Miller, Steve Bisley and nearly every other star such as Joanne Samuel, Geoff Parry (Bubba) David Cameron (Barry), John Ley (Charlie)and Hughs Keays- Byrne as well as so many of the fim makers and Robert Orchard one of the mechanics who worked on the cars. Seeing these actors after 30 years was amazing.
After the event there were a few drinks had and more conversation with the guys for several hours.
Thanks must go to all those who attended especially Grant, Chris, Dale, Nic, and Emil as well as Tim and Garry.
I hope all reading this make the effort to attend all events organised or advertised on this site because whilst there is interest we will all learn more about the movies we love and share the passion with not only other fans but the guys who made it really appreciate the interest in their work. Thanks also to Peter Barton for keeping this site and forum going so us mad fans have somewhere to go.

Re: Mini Reunion- Screening Sydney 31st January
Did Tim and Gary say when Madness of Max comes out, you're making me want it big time, especially since Mel is interviewed, I never thought that would happen.
Born with a steering wheel in his hand and lead in his foot, he is The Nightrider.

Hey Darkeye they didnt say when it was coming but they showed us 7 inutes that s fantastic. Hearing Bubba talking about his role and Joanne Samuel talking about the tricks the bikers pulled her was cool. George Miller said he "would give the definitive Mad Max interview." They should get it done this year for 30 year anniversary I think. I heard they have around seven hours of footage that has been cut down to about 2.5 hours. It would be great if everyone could get together for a fan event all the cast attended.
