Majel Barrett-Roddenberry RIP

She died of leukemia at the age of 76. She was the wife of the late Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry. She played Nurse Chapel on the original series, and Lwaxann Troi on Star Trek: The Next Generation. She was also the computer voice of the Enterprise.

I just happened to see that obit in a paper today, or I wouldn't have known about it at all. Didn't hear a whit about it other than that. So sad, she really carried on the Trek torch for Gene.

I am surprised I hadn't heard about this. I have her voice (as the Enterprise computer) as my computer's sound scheme.
