So what's the latest on the Goose's Kwaka?

Post by Alabaster »

It's been about a year and I finally gave up and sold my '79 KZ1000 and abandoned the idea to replicate Goose's Kwaka. But just like a suspicious sore on my lip, the feeling has crept up again. I'd like to give it another shot. So does anyone have any information about a US company that manufacture's the fairings needed for the Kwaka?

The name of the game is patience... I've wanted to do this for many, many years - like 20+. I've had the bikes for close to 5 years now and have been gathering the parts slowly but surely. I'm in no rush to finish as I have plenty to keep me busy.

There are a couple hopeful suppliers. Read through the posts and see where they're at with the projects. I'm sure it'll be big news when something finally becomes available.

I have one that is for sale but there are others interested in it also. I have been kind of quiet on the forum for a while. My bikes and fairings have been on the back burner as my time is limmited with two jobs going full speed ahead. If you want one of my fairings, let me know and I may be able to help you out. It would most likely be spring before I can get one made. Possibly over Christmas break if we are lucky.

Ok,so with the help of drb580 I am going to attempt a Goose Kwaka. This won't be movie accurate but still close enough to turn heads. I'll keep everyone posted to the progress.

Excellent!

Where abouts are you?

There are a few of us down here in Central NC who are in the planning/waiting stages.

Cheers,

Here is a link to the guys who had the toecutter and two goose bikes at the Little River event. There ae some cool pics on their site, maybe they could help other replica builders.

I'm in Dallas, Texas. I just bought a '79 KZ1000 today but will have to make the trip down to south Texas on the Gulf to pick it up. It's not exactly movie accurate but it will do. I'll check out the guys over at madmaxbikes.com and see if they can offer any insight.

Donut Dale you are the man! I received an email from Dave at Z Power Kawasaki about his Goose replica. He has agreed to listen to all my boring Nerd-ish questions concerning my build up of a Goose bike. I will be sure to pass on any info he gives me so that anyone else can use it in the future. It's a holiday week here in the US so I will make the six hour drive down to the Gulf to pick up my donor bike. Pics to come.
