The original drummer for Rush has died at the age of 55. No cause of death has been given, though he suffered from diabetes, which caused him to quit the band. He is featured on Rush's first hit single Working Man.
Here are 3 other guys from the 60s and 70's:
Mike Smith, keyboardist and vocalist of the Dave Clark Five died Feb 28 of pneumonia at the age of 64. He died 11 days before he was to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the DC5. Their famous hits included Catch Us If You Can and Glad All Over. His pneumonia was a complication from a fall he suffered in 2003 which left him paralyzed.
John Stewart died of either a stroke or brain anyeurism on Jan 19 at the age of 68. He was a member of the folk group The Kingston Trio. His greatest accomplishment musically is most likely writing Daydream Believer, one of the biggest hits for The Monkees. His solo career included the minor hit Gold("When the lights go down in the California town").
Paul Davis died on April 22, the day after suffering a heart attack on his 60th birthday. His hit songs included I Go Crazy, Cool Night, and 65 Love Affair.
