I can't believe there's been 16 views here and not one has answered Draknoirs question! unless the 16 here don't know which I would find hard to believe! anyway,It's pretty much common knowledge (or may be not!LoL) that the car belongs to Chris who runs the Silverton pub and pretty much sits there for tourists and visitors pleasure and amusement!it does run occasionally.

Bart, that car is the most photographed car in the world mate and I couldn't tell you how many people I bump into that think that car is originally from the movie! which is why Chris ain't really bothered about the finer detail! just goes to show how accuracy is only a problem for a select few!

295 posts? Geeze! I guess I am wasting forum space after all! :D

Sorry for my lack of knowledge... and I'm not being sarcastic. I'm lucky to be able to point to Australia on a world map. I have heard mention of the Silverton Hotel here, but I don't really know what it is. I'm guessing it was in the first movie. And I sure don't know anything about the owner or his car. I do know that the guy in the photo is just an Australian tourist.

I only just recently learned the difference between an XB and an XC... I'm riding the short bus here.

Bart
the car has 12 slots on it painted black, Chris was good enough to let me and Adi take it out the mundi mundi lookout on Adi's first trip here. As Adi said, it must be the most photographed car in the world, all day tour companys and tourists are snapping away at it, its part of the front veranda of that place. Once Chris said he had it away for a few days to get something done on it, and it was a major disapointment to the tourists who went out there to see the pub, and the car parked out front. Chris aint bothered about the accuracy of it, sure, if you want to go done that whole debate topic, but i surley dont. tell me these pics arnt any good.
