Wanted,rear flares

People come here to trade, do a little business. If you've got nothing to trade you've got no business in Bartertown. (Buy / Sell / Swap / etc)

Gees louise.. here we go again.

MadDan i noticed you posted elsewhere asking for Gordon. Since you ask about "movie correct" flares why are you chasing him?

Please in the interest of the forum and considerng what has happened on here in the past with regards to certain replica builders claiming "movie correct, hand measured, upsidedown side indicator lens" do not use the term "movie correct"..... As some of those who continually use that term have been found out to be.... not movie correct.

It would also help to actually say who you are... ie: introduce yourself. and where you are....
As there are plenty of people on here with multiple IDs already. This will in turn make everyones experience on here a pleasurable one.

This sounds as if you are talking about http://www.madmaxparts.com/. Which of their parts are not correct?

So roadwarriormfp, is that a yes I can help or no.
Help will be more than appriciated, sarcasm won't.
Sorry for no intro, here goes.
My name is Dan and I have been building a BOB replica for a few years now using the Advanced Spoiler "kit".
I bought wheels, flares, nosecone, roof spoiler, boot spoiler, side pipes and decals.
Rear flares, boot and roof spoiler are in the bin and never recieved front flares or side pipes which more than likely would have been shit anyway. Long story short I just got sick of ringing and just cut my losses and started afresh, THANX FOR NOTHING MARTIN MACK.
All that aside I made my own front flares out of Torana flares which took me 2 tries to be satisfied with. I modified the van nose cone to resemble the coupe front a little better. Trying to line up the nose to the front flares and keeping symmetry is rather dificult on a 30 year + old car. I obtained a roof spoiler mould to make my own "movie correct" spoiler(movie correct meaning looks pretty close).
Boot spoiler is a modified cobra item center piece and I still have to make the side pieces. My car is not movie correct in many ways but it is pretty close. As for Gordons flares being movie correct or not they look good and a lot better than my modified Torana hatch rears. If you can point me in a better direction by all means do so. I'm sick of the run around and just want to enjoy my car.
P.S. you didn't say who you were.

No sarcasim intended.

Sorry to hear of you problems with your supplier. Cant say i have heard of other problems with him before, but then again some customers don't like to air dirty laundry.

Unfortunately you are kinda limited as to who you go to get a kit in Australia.
Gordon has dropped off this forum due to claims which were made by him and proven to be wrong.

There are other people who sell kits, but i dont know if their emails are current or not.
You can try Scott Smith at [email protected] though i know scotts work load is quite heavy at times....

If you go to http://www.madmax.net.au/ (which is Marke Kemps old website) you can gind an email contact there for someone who has moulds for the kit.

Kraig Cummins is another... though i no longer have his email address... He lives near Sydney and he occasionally sells full kits on eBay.

Tim Ridge may be able to help .... [email protected] though again i dont know if its a current email addie....

Your other choices may be to try overseas from some of the US suppliers....

Intro myself? Im Sam and the rest is all in my profile.... one of the few members who actually filled in the details...

I have a sedan which i started 2 yrs ago, but life kinda overtook things. Even went and bought another XB sedan recently.

Unforetunately some people simply stopped making the kits.
The flood of the supply certainly out-weight the demand I think.

There was a full kit for sale on eBay recently, but i see its gone.

The only thing i can say is too keep hassling people (in a nice way) and hopefully you will get somewhere.....

You wont be the first person who has decided to make their own parts because others have failed you along the way.... or charge an arm and a leg !

Yes well the shit fight will probably go on no doubt.... And its always kinda hard on the new members as people get suspicious on here lately.. lol

Yeah, I bid on pretty much every mad max item on ebay and missed out on nosecone and flares recently and was devistated. I actually got the roof spoiler mould from Craig Cummins. Ebay can get expensive.
I also have an XC farmont sedan I have been contemplating doing a Roop Charlie lookalike. Mabey after the Lx Torana hatch,Lx SLR 5000 replica or the HG GTS Monaro projects ha ha. Too many cars so my wife keeps telling me (try and find a monaro or hardtop now)
I just employed a labourer for my my rendering business who built boats for a few years and has heaps of fibre glass experience and will work for grog.
I haven't touched my XB since christmas last year. I got carried away with It and just rushed everything with dizmal results.
Mabey this Christmas..........

Craig had a full kit on eBay for sale.... has he not got anything left?

Though if you have plenty of experience in glass work it may pay to simply make your own in your spare time?

The kit was for a sedan and consisted of roof spoiler, front spoiler and flares. Its been listed a few times for $1500 and each time had no bids. Last I spoke to him he said "make an offer" but I was broke at the time.
As far as I know he still has it.
