Anyone know the truth to the rumour that "Wez" in MMII shot and killed a rabit on the set with his wrist crossbow?

Do you mean the one he actually shot in the movie ? , because I don`t know if he shot it first in real life, but to do this scene with his wrist cross bow they had a hollow piece of alluminium as the arrow(which is probably how they are made anyhow) and it ran along a fine cable which was attached to the rabbit(pretty sure is was a dumy) so when he shot it out of the cross bow it perfectly went straight to the rabbit. As I would imagine it is hard enough to shoot a rabbit at this distance and off the hip with a pistol let alone a wrist cross bow. So my educated guess is no he did not shoot one.

Emil defined it perfectly with the hollow arrow, although it was a real real rabbit with some rabbit-fur attached to him.
David Slingsby (The Quiet Man) said he wont sign the contract for his role if they would shoot a real one.
After the shot they let the rabbit go.
