...If I could be in Tony Blair's position for a day, I'd give the Iranian Republican Guard a history lesson on how the British Royal Navy used to be the most powerfull force on this entire planet.... England could unload REDCOAT troops with flintlock muzzleloaders onto Iran's beaches and kick the dogcrap out of that country.. someone needs to bitchslap that leader Mahmoud.. He's getting to big for his boxers..
...a question still arises though, HOW do you sneak up on more than 2 dozen armed Royal Sailors and Marines?..

Thanks March Hare !
As to your last question..... I dunno.... how do you sneak up on 2 dozen Sailors and marines ????
Perhaps the iranians were disguised mermaids ??? lol
You will get the usual huffing and puffing from all the blowholes on both sides...
We are 100% snafu....

They were on break, just fishin'. Yeah, that's it...and their rowboat drifted a bit too far. No GPS tracking, no call for help and coordination of position when they were boarded/captured....
"All blowholes on both sides". A good way to put it.
We're all full of crap.

Nothing against the British Marines except for the fact thay were taken prisoner. And then the law was passed in Britain that no British prisoners were to make any money selling their story of being in Iranian captivity. 'cept the ones who have now already done so. So nothing against what this crew did to dishonor all who went before them.

U.S. Marines, my son included amongst the many, DO NOT GET CAPTURED OR TRY TO WRITE OR SELL THEIR STORY. They are usually to busy KILLING the enemy. Cowards in war will try to save their own lives and thats what they did.
Cowards all 15. They should have fought unto death. They were armed and threw the weapons down without firing a shot...
Now that is about as insulting as I can get.

As far as I'm aware this was not an offensive war situation,British marines entered Iranian waters and held their hands up to it,why would they want to open fire??? has there not been enough needless blood shed and death within the ranks of our troops already? or has Britain had the wrong idea in war.......should they shoot first and worry about the consequenses later....gun ho and trigger happy spring to mind!!! It has nothing to do with being a coward but everything to do with common sense!

Ok Adrian, I was a bit salty on that one. I just get upset when Iran is allowed to fly in the face of the world community by harboring, training, and funding terrorists.
Also,I just want to ask what you mean by "needless" bloodshed.
Then there must be needfull bloodshed in war.
Do we agree that this is a war?

Gota admit it is a bit embarassing,
If they was patroling the waters they wasn't doing it well if they didn't see a bunch or iranians comming towards them , especially in the middle of the sea

Steve,I'm not over educated in why goverments decide to go to war but even I was shocked when Bush decided to invade Iraq,my first words were "why?" Iraq had no links with bin laden or WMD, nor had they ever threatend the US! and we won't get into the nitty gritty of why Iraq was really invaded!!!. Iraq will never have a safe and democratic society so in my eyes the first service person killed there was a 'needless' waste of life. Why are we there? I don't know,we're certainly not at war, they say it's the war on terror, maybe I ain't seen the news where all the terrorists targeting the west have been arrested in Iraq! Imagine all the families of dead service men and women wondering what there children died for, they didn't die defending there country that's for sure,I can understand anyone being patriotic toward there country when it's threatened but Iraq threatened no one! How do we benefit in any way by trying to create a democratic society in Iraq? we don't, so why are troops still there and still dying for a muslim country that hates us? Bush got it wrong,he admitted it,then says we need troops there to keep the peace! WHY?because we invaded a country for nothing and rattled the occupants!! Iraq is nothing to do with us nor is it beneficial except for the obvious!!!!!! but brave service men and wowan are still dying and for what? Iraq should have been left alone,if they became a threat to us then send in the troops to do there job.
Now back to the Iranian incident, imagine the marines opening fire....more families to expect a knock on the door, and think of the consequenses.......war with Iran......and for what, putting your gun up instead of your hands!!
All we are doing is turning the muslim world more and more against the west........have we learnt nothing?

Steve, now hold on a sec dude,Lets not be hypocritical here.Remember back in 1973 was it? When one of the U.S Navy ships was captured in North Korean waters?Well why didn't we blow the sh*t out of them too?I mean North Korean Naval vessels have to be like john boats with a M1 carbine bolt action rife taped to the front bow. While I'm not to keen on the Brit soldiers selling their stories after being involved in a very frightening experiance like they were. It would have caused a HUGE international incident if they shot at the Iranians.ALso I'm in NOW WAY SHAPE OR FORM defending the Iraninas I loath and dispise any radical muslim who wishes death to the West and I DO NOT dig thier bullsh*t laws where women are made to wear bed sheets or be killed if they dared hug someone or look at thier f**king direction.I don't support the war.its nothing but a godamned meat grinder.were pissing in the wind over there it seems. But I support our troops and the coalition forces as they have to endure red tape bullsh*t and live in misery away from thier families and try and restore order to a largly ungreatful Iraqi people.Quote: Originally posted by Steve Gizzi on 15 April 2007
