He was in the remake of the film Moby Dick with Patrick Stewart (STNG Capt Jean Luc Picard)
Sounded just like he did in MM1 kind of living in a alternate universe from reality. He did look a bit on the .... ummmm large side in that film.
I wonder if that photo above is just showing him in a slimmer light by having his chin tucked down and in deep shadow. Seeesh a sumo wrestler would look anorexic in a pose like that!

PS I can't help but wonder if some of those actors who appeared in the films actually visit webiste like this and see what's going on, what people are saying about them etc. Y'know? If I were in their shoes I'd be curious about my past jobs and characters, at least enough to run a google search and see what the results are.

you have to be joking........... you call yourself fans of this movie yet you make remarks like this !!!! about the actors , who have grown older gracefully... it was 30 years ago ... Hugh is one of the nicest persons one could ever meet ,, he just glows when he walks in to the room ....picture yourself 30 years on from now and how people will look at you, ... we are getting older, I think he's doin very well............................
Hey hey hey simmer down! I know exactly what I look like in the mirror and I still wake up screaming in the night wondering where the hell that old fella came from that used to be me.
I'm sure Mr Keay-Byrn is a really nice bloke. All I was saying is that in Mody Dick his character was sort of "out there" while everyone was screaming "we're gonna die!" Hugh was trying to light his pipe in a force 10 gale with flint and iron. know what I mean? I actually like this guy. he seems the type I could party with. As for the photo, there are ways to flatter someone when taking a photo... so far I haven't found for myself, but I live in hope. The best results I've had is when the photographer accidently left the lens cap on. Grrrr AND he's stil got his hair which is more than I can say!!! (Jammy bastard!)
Lighten up a little, we're a pretty loose bunch here and enjoy a spot of leg pulling, even some of that is aimed at the actors from the films. I think it shows we have a our feet on the ground and know the characters aren't really real people who we should worship at the foot of thier ivory tower. I've met Vernon Wells and he's a nice bloke too I didn't stammer out a hello either. I try not to be in awe of such people. Unless they believe in their own hype, in which case I'd avoid 'em

Are we living in a land where sex and horror are the new gods?
There are some a lil too wrapped up on here, there are some a lil too looose and some who are off the wall crazed 'Hi there' but thats what makes this forum special and great!
No.1 HELL RAISER on the MAD MAX Movies forum for over 10 years now !
Anybody here watch the '98 Moby Dick movie? I hear that Bruce Spence is also in it. Is it a pretty good movie? I know HKB pulled off some great acting in MM1...
I've got the DVD, It's alright... not as good as the Gregory Peck version in my opinion Patrick Stewart seems to over act his role, HKB features a lot as the rowdy crew hand ganger. I'm not sure if he's an officer or just the foreman but there's no mistaking him in it. I seem to recall seeing Bruce Spence in it. I'll have to check for sure, as I might be mis remembering, but I think he plays the "Mad prophet of doom" at the beginning of the film before they set sail. Gregory Peck even has a cameo role in this film. He plays the part of the preacher at the beginning (Orson Wells played that part in the original)
Not bad from the point of view of seeing HKB and other familier faces. I wonder if anyone will clock who the actor who plays Ishmeal is. Took me a while till the penny dropped.
