I found this on eBay. 2005 Chrysler Sebring Coupe Black on Black. One of the best Contemporary American candidates (along with it's Dodge sister Stratus) for the black-on black MFP interceptor .

Imagine 'EARTH' on the driver's side door of this

To each his own, I just thought with, OK I concede, a world of souping up, the Sebring (my choice since the Mustang is out of my insurance range) would be 'The BoB' for me when I'm in the mood to play Mad Max.

An early to mid '80's Mustang (Particularly one that is a 4 Cylinder - at least on Paper) isn't that bad insurance wise. (Unless you've got a bad driving record.. then they pay real close attention)Image

Cheaper than the Mustang would be the Fox Chassis Capri, though the Capri enthusiasts will have a conniption fit if you swap Mustang body parts onto it. Image

(Particularly bumpers & Hatch)

I actually agree with them on the "Why make it the same to be different" sentiment.

(So please leave the Capri a Capri.) Image

I'm still going with a Plymouth Duster/Dodge Demon as a base car for an American version. As I stated on another thread, the wheelbase, length, width, and side profile is similar to the Falcon. I'll have no trouble dropping a big block down in it and my insurance will be cheap. It won't be an exact copy, more along the lines of the "in the spirit of" approach.

Someday I'll have the funds to get my ol' Javelin restored.

Pierre Cardin, 360 4-barrel, with AMX rear spoiler, same color as this one..

Heh, that was the first car I thought of when I was thinking of as an "in the spirit of" Mad Max car.

Ol' girl scared the livin' hell out of me last time I had her on the road.

I've gotten to drive some class Iron in my time but that thing..

Well, we'll just say that 255/60Sr15 Goodyear Eagles are wholly inadequate for rear traction.

At any velocity. Image

I'd use the Stratus first...at least for the last year they made it look decent.
