Anyone know of a good (real) shotgun to use in making a replica, non funtional of course. I dont have much knowledge of guns and the ones I have seen that look similar are high dollar. Wouldnt want to destroy a quality gun for a prop (an expensive one either).

Big Bopper, whats the story with Randy Weaver by the way?

Got the Randy Weaver reference now, Thanks March Hare, thought that was Dennis Weaver hehe.

Ebay pulled the auction cause they dont allow the caps (considered explosives I guess). Ends of barrels will be orange also (as far as ebay knows). Relisted, hope its allowed this time

Doesn't look very correct, at least for MM1. Max's barrells arn't even black, they are blue, and Max's gun has a white grip cap spacer. His gun had fancier woodwork too, it wasn't just flat on the forend and the grip.

I have a real Stevens 5100, and it is pretty close. Search the forum for a post like "the real mad max shotgun" if you want to see it.

How strict are US gun laws anyway?.....I've come across links/sites similar to the one below!

Surely a fully auto Glock would be more "restricted" than a sawn-off scattergun?

Gun laws vary from state to state, but recently have gotten more strict. Arizona is still part of the wild west. Amazing what you can do if you call yourself a "collector". Nothing compares to the feeling of letting a full clip rip from the hip, from an AK-47. Gotta give the Rushkies credit for building one tough SOB of a gun.

I suspect it's an experience many of us will never get!

When I was in my early teens I used to shoot metallic sillouette pistol (I lived in a country Town, there wasn't much to do and the girls were ugli)..Recently, the Laws on handguns in Oz have now been restricted to .38 or less!

for the last few years, I've had a hankering to fire a .45 or .44Mag...but guess I never will again!
