Should Batmobile really have been Max Mobile

Post by Gordon Hayes »

I have not seen the "Batman returns" film as yet but I have watched the features DVD, the building of the latest Batmobile was very interesting.

At first look I hated it, most likely because I was such a fan of the Keaton Batmobile... but this new one has defiantly grown on me, to the point that it might have been built for the wrong film... I now think that it would be a suitable kind of vehicle to be used by MAX if "Fury Road" ever actually happens.

In logical thought the latest Batmobile does not need roads, those big and very hard to puncture high flotation tyres would be OK for desert, decaying cities, and torn up roads.

It just started to look to me at least more and more like the vehicle they should have built for MAX.

And in that build-up DVD it defiantly has a MAX correct howling V8 sound.

Wack a couple of either turbochargers or a supercharger onto that V8 it already has... Well if we can't have the Interceptor I am just more and more thinking that something like this 2005 Batmobile should have been built for Max Rockatanski, it's a genuine historic awesome film car, it would not have needed all those BAT gimmicks of course.... Just a massive power plant .... OH...if only our Mate George Miller had finished messing around and decided to make a real and perhaps even an epic film again.

Anyone else thought this?

Cheers

Yes it has a 'post apocolyptic'look but you'd havta sh*tcan alot of the uber whiz bang pow crap on it to give it more of a weathered beaten up warrior mobile.

Hey Bart .

Well it would not take me long to mess this thing up a bit, Jusy a bit of Broken hill red dirt and it would be done.... Mate I would over mess it... I'd drive it through to Cameron Corner and back !. It would take me longer to bolt the turbo chargers onto it... but man oh man would not have killed to have been the guy who had to learn how to handle and drive this thing !

Imagine spending your days on a race track testing and sorting this monster out.

And they paid him to do it... !

Hey can some one photoshop this "Holy Mad Max Batman ... the batmobile is in the wrong movie !" Batmobile testing image into a MAD MAX world for me please..

An urban assault vehicle yes, but not a great all-terrain vehicle. Not enough ground clearance or suspension travel. The front tires are too exposed, vulnerable and a bit wide for a decent turning radius.

I didn't care for it for the first few minutes I saw for the same reason mentioned, I to was a fan of the original Keaton car. But then this thing just impressed the heck out of me. To think that it could have been used in a Max film is a cool idea. It looks the part.

Never did figure out why they put the big tractor tires in the back and a pair of Mickey Thompson Steamrollers in the front.

Otherwise, I think it's lightyears better than the Batmobile in the later movies.

(The Keatonmobile ranks 3rd for me, behind the Animated Series batmobile, then comes the AdamWestMobile)

Ground Clearance?

Looks like nearly a foot of clearance just in front of the rear wheel..

Oops! My bad.

Was fairly sure I saw "Mickey Thomson" on the sidewalls in one pic..

Do they make sprint car tires?

While typing, I Searched & found a good sized http://www.forumcinemas.lv/files/items/ ... mobile.jpg of the car.

Yup, Definately Sprint rears. Or Tree planters.

They just don't seem to fit well with the rears, IMO.

Still a damned cool lookin' machine..

Egad, fabricating the steering setup on that thing had to've been a NIGHTMARE!
