What I did today...
Thought it might be interesting to read what members here do on an average Saturday...
Its late Summer here. and will be getting cold outside in about a month. Spent most of the day servicing my equipment. 5 gallons of premium synthetic went into the DT466, two oil filters, two fuel filters, coolant filter, air filter the size of a trashcan., and an entire tube of grease to finish the "job".
The loader got synthetic too, hydraulic filters, oil , and checked the air filter...looked good. I kept having this nagging feeling that I needed to have her ready. For what ......I dont know.
Both machines got a bath. Then the presure washer decided to have a heart attack. Major surgery was performed. Dirty fuel. Corrected in only two hours!
Most of the topics around here are convos about which gas stations actually have fuel. I passed four stations yesterday with " NO FUEL" signs. The other big news ....."drop off " locations for hurricane relief donations.....took some water.
It was really hot here today.... about 93 degrees.

Good topic Ankle. Lets us all get to know each other a little bit more.
Today, Saturday, is now my only full day off of the week. I recently got another half-time job as janitor (hey, it's the only job I can stand for more than a year at a time) of a tourist spot in Sonoma. Taking into account both jobs, I work about 40-50 hours a week now. Saturday is my day to catch up on my beering, which I'm doing with gusto (Racer 5, Bear Republic brewing company, Healdsburg, CA...tell your friends!)
The thing is, drinking beer gives me energy to do the 'home things', like weeding the backyard, which I did for a good portion of the day, since our backyard looks like a jungle. I also did the dishes. I figure this gives me credit for fooling around on the computer, which I'm doing now. Ahh, the married life....give and take...
Oh, btw, it was pleasant here today, a little warm, but nice.

Yesterday, on saturday, I repared my mothers car. Since a few weeks you could hear and feel knocking coming from one of the front weels, and it was getting louder. So I went to a nephew who is a car mechanic and a carinspector. I don't know if that's the right word for it in englisch. Here in the Netherlands all cars that are 3 years and older are to be inspected ones a year for safetey and environmental reasons. My nephew is certified to do this. He told me that it probably was the ball bearing of the wheel on the right. Than I went to a local car dump and found a similar car whitch had an almost brand new complete suspension at the right side. So I asked myself: "Do I feel lucky" So I took the part that contained the ball bearing an the two front weels with tires. Those were verry good and the ones under my mothers car were almost worn out. So that evening I exchanged the ball bearing part and the weels. After that I wached some movies with a few litres beer.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.
