Built By American Motors Corporation, and available with their 304 CID V-8.

I've actually seen a few with a 360 or 401 swapped in.

One has a pretty pair of Indy Cylinder Heads' Aluminum Heads as well as a plethora of other goodies.

(He carries a sheaf of timslips in his glovebox.. Consistant Low 12's.) Image

This said, I'll state that I thoroughly Dislike the pacer for one reason & one reason Only..

Back in 1974, AMC had originally planned to give the Javelin & AMX a year off and come back for '75 with a redesigned Javelin. (I've seen pics of the Clay Body Prototype)

Instead of producing the New Javelin, AMC decided to go with a Smaller, more fuel efficient car - The Pacer.

Ugh.

If fuel prices keep going the way they are, that's what all cars will look like!

THere were two Eagles here in town recently (for sale) that I was looking at very closely.

A 4WD SX/4 Similar to http://www.amxfiles.com/amcpix/sx4sport_81.jpg (Which I would have painted flat black & outfitted with a Spirit AMX rear spoiler) and a 4WD 4-door Sedan Concorde (Which might have looked interesting in a red, yellow & Blue paint scheme) Image

As for the Hornet.. I actually prefer the 2-door Sedan version.. Like http://www.amxfiles.com/amcpix/hornetsc.jpg.

...some would argue that the Eagle was just slightly .."out of the market". that the designers at AMC were shooting for at the time......when AMC went under, the EAGLE wagon transposed itself into the newly designed and seriously DOWNSIZED Jeep Cherokee..Before that the Cherokee ( and Wagoneer ) was a FULL SIZE TRUCK .Some were even manufactured by Kaiser.

March Hare,Henry J.Kaiser bought Willys in the early 60's i think but in 63 was the first year of the full sized Jeep Gladiator truck and Wagoneer and when AMC bought Kaiser Jeep in 1971 they called the trucks the J series and made the Cherokee and of couse kept making the Wagoneer, the full sized Chero's were discontinued in 83 and AMC made the new smaller Cherokees and wagoneers and called the full sized waggys Grand Wagoneers.AMC of course was bought out by Chryco.in 87 and continued on with the Grand waggys until thier left over AMC parts dried up in 91.the venerable AMC inline 6 is still being used today even tho Mopar is now owned by asshole nazis.
