Greetings. At least your nosecone looks like it's worth mounting! The one I bought off someone two years ago (June) here in Detroit, is a wonderous piece of junk to say the least. With the potholes big enough to lose a tanker in, the rest of the gelcoat would probably pop off like the rest of it. I ended up facing the facts and started from scratch, building the mock-up out of bondo and ABS plastic...just to get all of the lines straight. When I'm done, I'll pull a plaster and glass-scrim 5-pc mold off of it and have it epoxy-resin and glass laid, then vac-bagged over at Rousch Racing in Livonia. The term "Buyer Beware" couldn't ring louder right about now. I'm also using the L-88 bonnet scoop on her until I get enough pennies saved for a real blower. Anyone know of a short-snout blower setup for a 460? Looks good XAman. It's a long road, but worth it in the end.

Hi Gang

Thanks MFPMAX.

Brad ... sure have and have one on hand. I like the fact that the L88 scoop was on the car after the film when it did the shopping centres. I also am fond of the simple lines of the Cobra scoop. One consideration is that I want to have my cake and eat it too by being able to put on a different set of guards and the original bumper/grill and have a nice GS XC.

Bart ... here's hoping not. I am not mounting a fake blower or zoomies and they are the main target of the road natzis.

Bronze ... I'm pretty darn happy with it. It's a really nice solid and straight moulding with some filler, glassing and grinding needed to get a nice fit but all in all a good unit. I still have to fit up the side extensions. Also Marke Kemp supplied me with templates for the supports and light buckets. Sorry to hear yours was so disappointing!

Nelson ... pencil in that cruise for around the end of the year mate. I figure three months but then add a factor of at least 200% cost and time wise. Really its just an engine trans swap plus respray with a nosecone ... how complicated can it get : )

600 HP ... thanks

Well seeing as though we are in update mode......I took mine for a spin (unregistered) around my local block and it is humming nicely now. I am running a cobra scoop too. I will run the blower on special occasions. Speaking of the blower. I have it running now but the noise is too soft. I think I need a bigger pulley on the compressor. Currently I am running a 6.5 inch but think it needs an 8 inch to get the correct sound. At least the mechanism works.

Just need to attach the bonnet catch and fix temp guage and then blue slip, at which point they will find a new list for me to work on. Hopefully I can cruise over to you before the end of the XA.

How do you post pics??? I want to show off my nearly accurate replica.

Hey Nelson

I've only just mastered the pic posting thing and it's pretty straightforward ... if I can do it ... it can't require too high a level of competence.

My apologies to those who actually understand the hoodoo voodoo of computers ... this is a Ludites explaination ...

First step is log on to http://www.photobucket.com then register. Once you are a member you will get a screen that allows you to browse your computer for picture files and upload them to photobucket.

Keep photobucket open.

Now you open a second browser ... log onto this forum and write your post as usual here then click on the icon at the top of the Post Reply box second to right with a picture of a tree.

Now paste the url appearing under your saved pic on photobucket and paste this to thee dialogue box that came up after you clicked the tree icon ... and there you have it.

Sounds more complex than it really is ... if you want give me a call on the mobile ... so I can stay online ... and I'll talk you through it.

I've got a spare temp gauge if that's the problem?

Love to see some pics ... even more seeing the beast in the flesh ...

Speaking of which I just picked up my new plates for the coupe ... white on black ...

MFP-666 ... the beast!!!
