BoB Replica $$$ Value

The latest edition of Performance Ford has values for GT coupes ranging from $60,000 in top condition to $16,000 in very poor condition, requiring full restoration. I am currently chasing isurance for my replica and was curious as to what people think these cars are worth. I think it is a seperate issue as to what people WILL pay for one compared to what it is worth. Some people are willing to pay top dollar for a completed replica whilst others prefer to build it themselves, there is a seperate thread by itself.

Obviously not many replicas are GT's but using that as a guide what do you think the value of a replica is? Ranging from top condition to poor.

Nelson, your best bet would be to have it appraised. I've spent at lot less than people would think but the guy doing the appraisal (who is originaaly from Aus and had a huge smile when he saw the coupe) says he'll most likely make it 4 times my cost just to play it safe. I have it insured with a special collector car insurance company and the yearly fee is very cheap considering the appraised amount.

Hi Nelson

Have you tried Shannons ... they offered me a great price on Comprehensive Ins for my Cobra ... I ended up going with NRMA as I had other ins with them. Both policies had 4000km per yr limits and notify them if travelling interstate ... which I did when I drove the Cobra to Melbourne for the 25th shindig ... no problem.
