Frieght from Melbourne to LA

Post by OzHemi »

Just wanted to let everyone know, I have a container leaving Melbourne in a couple of weeks it looks like, heading here to LA and have room for one car (or parts of course) if anyone over here needs stuff brought across..

I should know for sure by mid to late next week just when it will be going, but if you have anything in mind, feel free to holler and I might be able to help out !

Oh..... I'd want US$2500 to ship a car in this container, parts would just depend on what all there was...

Hey Hemi,

You might want to make contact with madmaxcars.com, although this is a bit more than they usually charge for shipping, they might have a car down there that needs to go in a container to the USA. They have cars coming and going all the time.

They will also soon be distributing the "Mad Max Reissue" parts line, all parts made by the original manufacturers, or their new owners, that were featured prominently in the MM series of films (plus a few that no manufacturer exisits anylonger, but reproduced from original tooling, as good or beter than the originals), you will be suprised at all the previously discontinued stuff that will now be easily available aftermarket parts (in cool mad max packaging). More details will be posted as soon as the whole line is available. Untill then, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me: [email protected]

with any questions.

I think $2500 is pretty fair for frieght at the moment... containers have gone up some since last containers I sent, and that is also all up, no add ons or what not (apart from duty of course, 2.5% or 3%....forgot off the top of my head what the rate was) but cheap or expensive, I just thought if someone needed something now it was an option at least. We'll be loading up in about a week it looks like... I'm just trying to round up a few last minute bits...

I mainly ship the other way, from here in LA to Melbourne (and do a fair bit actually..) but when I do have one coming back this way a couple of times a year, handy to be able to fill it as much as possible !

2500.00 is cheap if it includes all the duties /customs and importation fees. I just spent about 4000.00 to ship my xbgt in with 2600 on shipping and the rest on duties / taxes and my import / broker fees. Those fees on this end can add up ,every agency seems to have their hand out. Usda even charged me for a inspection and fumigation / steamcleaning too . Image

That is all the fees; without including duty, since that of course depends on what your value is... but nothing else for brokers or stuff like that... I have always just gone down to customs myself and cleared the containers...

But I can swing my hand out too if it would help, ha ha....

Bringing US made vehiciles back is nice too.. No duty on them! Image
