DR DEALGOOD

Post by rockatansky4073 »

Was checking out THUNDERDOME theother night (yeah, should have me ead tested)

And i noticed on the end of DR DEALGOOD's cane, is a silver mural of a tyre with wings coming out of either side of it. For starters i was like - huh? why would he have this? then forgot about it.

Then when AUNTY and her receding hairline is making her speech to a crumbling BARTERTOWN "Where you gonna run, where you gonna hide, BARTERTOWN wil live..." I noticed behind her to the left was the roof of a hut or something with skulls decorated on it, and the same simble perched ontop of it - a tyre with silver 'angel' wings sticking out of either side of it.

Was that Where DEALGOOD lived? and he personalised his residence with his simble so everyone knew that was his joint?

Also during the end chase scene - I noticed the Bike and sidecar that FLOPPYBAR tries to land on while dangling from the pipe on the train, looks alot like the same model of bike as WEZ's, then looking closer i think i saw a little badge on the front of it, exactly where WEZ had his DEATHSHEAD badge on his bike. - you think it is a DEATHSHEAD, and is a homage to WEZ?

No idea about any of the above ... but I did take a snap of Bartertown for you guys yesterday.

I was enduring the Easter Show (State Fair for you septics) and ... having just whooped my son's ass on the go carts ... took my daughter up on the ferris wheel that is perched on the edge of the old brickpit at Homebush. So from the top of the ride I snapped Bartertown.

Unfortunately it was with an old school film camera so you'll have to wait till it's developed and scanned.

I felt a bit sad really as there were thousands of punters seeing it but not seeing it ... if you know what I mean.

A tire with wings like you described, Rock, is also the insignia of a number of police motor patrol units here in the States.

Interesting HARE, and ROAD, were these placs using these insignia's back in about '85? I wonder if the movie's set designers saw them, and thought they looked cool enough for a 'MAX' movie.

The way i remember it WEZ wasn't even in MMBTD. - so what are you on about. - mind you it woulda been a better movie if he was in it.

[div]OFF TOPIC![/div]
[div]ed inoltre ho notato che insegnano il francese nella versione originale e l'italiano nella versione francese. Conoscete la scena con quell'vecchia annotazione.[/div]
[div]sh*t I don't know if my translation from english to italian gives a sence but yes, I also noticed that they teach french in the original version and italian in the french version. You know the scene with that old record. Men, BTD is full of never noticed details, it's definitely the most detailed MM movie.[/div]
[div]Yes Uncle, the italian BTD version is a little closer to the original than the french one.[/div]
[div]Rock, I'm surprised that you start a BTD thread. Image[/div]
[div]After years of beeing a MM1 devoted die-hard fan, ex owner of a Kawasaki Z 1000 A1, I begin to enjoy BTD more and more. Maybe because I'm getting old now ...[/div]
[div] [/div]
I could probably make it on my own, but I like you kids.
