I had a blast in my "newly detailed" max outfit (see the haloween thread).
I am wondering however, if there is a "Real" version of the tool belt. Police service belts are not even close here, even the ones with the sholder strap.
What type of shotgun does max have? I figure I should get a damaged real one, and fill the barrels and cut it off etc, so it is legal, and acurate....

Hey MFP1
I am certain that Max's belt is an Australian Army officers 'Sam Brown Belt'. I had a look at the DVD and remain convinced ... they are/were freely available at army disposal stores here. Ithink that there might be a couple of variants as the one on the link below has straps for a sword but I can't see the brass clips as seen on Max's belt ... and my fathers that I played with as akid ... that were used to raise the sword to the belt when mounted (horse).
Anyway have a look at the link and see what you think.

Hi MFP 1!,
My name is Chris from down ' unda in New Zealand There is a pic of me in the fan costume section.
Max's belt is actually a Swedish YES SWEDISH military belt, of all things! I have two of them, they are now very rare and hard to find, they are IDENTICAL in every respect to Max's belt. E-Mail me on: mailto:
if you are interested in acquiring one, I will e-mail you a pic.
I had actually discussed this with the wordwarrior ages ago, but he must have forgot to mention it on his page.
Cheers,
Chris.

The belt I have for sale was brought for another member of this site, but he never returned my e-mails after I had purchased it for him, so it is up for grabs!
The only markings on it are 3 crowns above the number 130, (the size most likely), it is real heavy duty black leather, with the correct double spiked brass buckle, and 3 brass utility rings (2 square,(for Binoculars) and one half round), the over shoulder belt has the correct taper, and fittings, as well as the leather loops where Max's spanner is attached. I have just taken some pics of it, and I will e-mail them to any-one interested, either for info, or to purchase.
I can also get the accurate Yachtsmans 3-function knive/can openers (unmarked non-british army ones), as per the movie one. These are very durable, and an awesome knife that is designed to last a lifetime, both for costume use, or for general purpose. They are Full stainless steel, even the marlinespike, not chrome plated as exibited on cheaper versions. They are very sharp, and sold through an exclusive knife retailer for professional use by boaties/yachtsmen/riggers, etc..., I also have pics of these for any and all interested
Cheers,
Chris.

For those of you intrested in making the belt pouches, and finding suitable non-official tools to fill them (thereby avoiding the now huge cost of the actuall NSW fire tools (it would be really a shame to chop off one of those Axes, so I got a replacement of mi real one, to save it from death))
Karol will porbably (no promices, it his web page after all) be posting quality pics soon of all sides of the pouches (front, back, inside, bottom, etc) for those of you who can whip them up out of leather stock. I have sent the pics to him, and I believe he recieved them, so stand by.
If it never makes it up on his site email me and I will send you copys.
