model kit on ebay labeled 1976?

Post by THE PUNISHER »

I've been cruising around in the internet wasteland for a few years now, and the general concensus is that Max's Interceptor was either a 1973 or 74. That's what I've always heard, and nobody seams to argue. A couple weeks ago, my cousin tells me that he saw this max model kit on ebay, but it says on the box REALLY BIG "1976" Ford Falcon! I'm sure somebody can make a mistake somewhere, but how can a legion of fans and replica builders get a date wrong? If they didn't get it wrong, how did a company go through all the trouble of putting toghether a high-dollar limited edition model kit with such incorrect info right on the front of the box? I'm in a tussle about this. Someone give me the metaphorical valium of information the shed some light on this quandry.

Cavalier normally puts the year of the car model on the box, and XB's were made in Australia from 1973 to 1976. They've probably used 1976 on a previous XB kit they've done I'd guess, and have just copied that date. It's incorrect for the Interceptor specifically, but not an XB.

Hopefully I'll have one of these kits later today and can put up a bit of a page and some pictures on the web site for it.

well, you know how computer are. A million little elecronic signals have to go just right before something happens. Apparently some operating error killed my internet service for a month or so. I had to go up to the next city's public library a few times just to clean out my Hotmail so the spam pileup didn't shut it down on me. Other than that, I didn't get to do much surfin'. It's good to be able to sit in the privacy of my own home and type on forums or jerk off or whatever. Only one of those things are suitable for the public library, by the way.
