NEED ADVICE !
I have just been e-mailed from a guy in Korea and also from an agent in the UK who apparantly are something to do with organising the "Hollywood Motor Show".
Is anybody familiar with this because they are wanting to use my car and ship it over to Korea from november to january, you can imagine i'm not too keen on the idea of leaving the car in the hands of strangers let alone out of the country.
My gut feeling is saying no so if anyone on this forum has heard of this event i'd be real interested to know what it's all about.
Cheers.

Adrian,
Found this site but I don't know if it's the same guys. http://www.hollywoodmotorshow.com/
If it's the same people, it looks like they might be wanting to "drive" your car in the show . .
I personally would't have anything to do with it unless they were to give you the replacable price for the car, up front and to keep once the car is returned. To be honest, I wouldn't even do it then. Just my 2 cents.

I'd say NO in very very big capital letters dude. I agree with scar, it does look as though they want to drive it and also, think about the shipping of the thing. You don't want to get it back all scratched and dented do you?

Mate,
If you read the site, it say's there a bunch of stuntmen. I'd say they not only would drive your car but most likely drive it not on all 4 wheels. Plus I reckon you'd end up with at least needing new clutch/brakes/tires/ maybe even engine/gearbox/diff/shock's. Not worth it in my mind. Unless they fly you there too & your the only one who drive's her.
Dave.

Thanks guys, i've just been on the site from your post Scar, and it's not looking good, who knows what they do once they've got there hands on it.
I've just had another E-mail from the UK agent but she hasn't really give me any more info, she wants to know the value for insurance purposes but as most of you will know and understand it's not about the money, when you spend nearly 2 years putting together your dream car you don't want some clown coming along and showing a total disregard for all the time and effort. There was something about a fee mentioned but again it wouldn't compensate in any way shape or form.
She is supposed to be sending me the e-mail address of the exibition center where it is taking place, so i'll see if they can supply any more info on exactly what is involved but i think i would be a fool to go ahead with it.

I know how much blood, sweat and tears you've put into your baby, and if i was you there's no way in hell i'd send my car over to korea unless you want is posted back in some mailing tubes!
Stunt men???? I shudder to think what might happen, and you wouldnt be there to stop it either, "the authentic Mad Max Show with drivers flying through the fire" scares the sh*t out of me already!!!
Leave well alone in my humble opinion
Catch ya later mate, off to work on the beast!!!

Adrian,
Why did they ask you, surely there is a closer replica to Korea that your's. There is at least one in Japan & from memory Gordon & Grant are very close to finishing a second bound for there. Plus the other replicas here in OZ, hell I've never measured it but I even think that the US is closer by boat that England.
Did they just do a search on the web & find you??
Dave.

Dave,
I thought it a little odd myself and actually said to them "do you know i'm in the UK ? "
They said it was no problem and that a number of cars were being used from here, it also said they had searched the web for a suitable car (i presume they meant in the UK) and asked if it was still in the same condition as in the picture on the site, didn't say which site but i think it must have been this one, so they must have gone down the list of BOB's to find mine.
I am now curious to know which other vehicles are going from here.
madmax 2050, see ya sunday!!!

Adrian,
I say dont put your car alone into the line of fire. But I do say see if you can parlay this into somthing for yourself. If they are genuinely serious about their event, and if it is a "For Profit" venture, then if they are on the level they should be willing to pay you a salary to be there, and shippiing/insurance for your car, as well as all expences you would incur while out of the country working for them. At the very least they should be willing to fund a replica built to their needed specs, and a "handeler" to accompany it. I have never heard of any carshows that come through my town where each car does not have its owner or a "Team" to care for, set up, break down, and transport it and its display stuff. Proceed with caution, but deal with them as a possible lucritave busness oppertunity, and if they wont put it all in writing then avoid them.
