!!!Does anyone have an MFP Badge???!!!
Plans are underway to create an MFP badge replica that will be considerably less expensive than the currently available Japanese badge. Let's just say you could be paying about a tenth of the price.
There's only one problem - if we don't find someone with an already-made replica badge, someone will have to front US$1000 so the company can create a die (not very likely).
So if anyone out there has a good badge replica that you would be willing to lend so that countless other fans could finally buy a badge they can afford, please let me know!
Thanks,
Karol

Hi Karol.
I have one, it is in less than perfect condition but still OK, I had it taped to a jacket and I had to re-attach one of the wings after it fell to the ground during a photo shoot.
I shall didgital photo it for you and you can see if it is OK
For the photo catch up with me at mailto:Interceptorbuilder@yahoo.com
Regards
Gordon.

Contact someone that makes Bronze castings for Medieval reenacting such as http://www.quietpress.com (in the US) or http://www.birkatraders.com/ (In Australia)
It may be possible to get them to cast badges from your own badge design. Just carve your own Wax original.
(I've actually been considering this, myself)
I've ordered some of Raymond's products before. He does Primo Belt fittings and such..

you could go to an iron smith for silver ones but you'd have to change the bronze stuff in mad max 1 like the scene with johnny the boy.
IRON!!!, hey gonna get you!

If you guys are looking for something for Halloween or for display purposes, I could be talked into casting some out of resin...just like the XBGT instrument panels I made for the 1:24 scale Torino and resin garage kits, posted in the modelling section, under XBGT Instrument Panels. It'd be a silicon or duraglas mold, and the design isn't very complicated to replicate. I've experimented with mixing dyes and paints into the mix to get colored parts now, so gold/bronze badges wouldn't be that hard to cast. All I'd need are some hi-res pics to go off of. They'd be done before October. Not trying to step on anyone toes here. Lemme know...

Foxtrot: Are you in the SCA by chance? I'm here in the Canton of Cinnabar (Ann Arbor). I was just curious, because of your link to the metalsmith...

We (The wife & I) aren't members, but we do play with them from time to time, and one of my best friends & her husband are members.Quote: Originally posted by Bronze21 on 16 May 2003Foxtrot: Are you in the SCA by chance? We're located in Calontir. In the Barny of Mag Mor in SCA terms.

Myself, I'm trying to improve the Authenticity of my garb & gear (1000 Norse)over time, with an eye towards one day being able to pass Regia Anglorum Auth standards.
There's a Dark Age Viking/Saxon reenactor group called Skjaldborg up in Omaha that I talk with on occasion. They've been a big help.
They tend to have a less than approving attitude towards the SCA and L.A.R.P. Groups, though.
I'm hoping to lessen that.
They'll just have to learn that the SCA is more than just Blue plastic armour and Poly/Cotton T-Tunics.
BTW, Has anyone ever considered trying to have "Astoria Police" belt buckles made? (ala MM3)
