Your age?

Post by StepChld »

So...it was mentioned what was everyone's age that visits these fine boards. But the answers to the questions was getting sidetracked by the original question (something about Thunderdome discussion forums...or something like that). So I'm asking here...

How old are you and when did you first see Max?

I'll start...I'm 37,about to be 38 in a few months.I saw Mad Max at a friend's house that had cable in about '81 b/c my parents weren't about to get cable when the antenna got it for free and they no way in hell were going to let me see "that movie" at the theaterImage !

Cheers,

Step

p.s.I happen to like Smokey and the Bandit as well...but nothing compares to Steve McQueen in Bullit! Mel is the closes to the same kinda cool as McQueen as any actor that I've ever seen. Also keep in mind that for Bullit, those chase scenes were shot in real time..no "speed up" of film or CGI and McQueen did his own driving, often topping 100mph!

Just for grinsImage...if you're an adult...what do you do for a living and your favorite car that you've actually owned as well!

I teach 7th grade History (to 12-13 year olds) and until recently drove a '86 Mustang GT 5.0,5 speed in Oxford White

Well,I'm 25 with 15 years experience and saw Road warrior in 1981,when I was 19,then I was hooked. When I found out RW was part 2,I had to find Mad Max and see it!It took almost three years to find it and see it.Then I HAD to have one. After RW I got into 1970/71 Torino cobras, thinking that was the car.I still have a bunch of Torinos along with my replica of the Black and there is no comparison. My friend thought the black was a Javelin and he got into those. When I brought my Black home,I had him bring his Javelin over and we parked them nose to nose and took a bunch of photos.Again,no comparison. The Aussie Falcon is IT,nothing else is close.I currently drive an '88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe,a 1970 Torino Cobra,a 1970 Torino GT and the Black.Cheers,Bill

Greetings.

I'm 30.

I work in the automotive industry building prototypes and concept vehicles here in Detroit USA.

I first saw the movies (rented VHS) when I was 14.

Favorite car: My 73 Aussie Ford Fairmont (luxury Falcon), future custom Pursuit Special.

First car: 1977 Plymouth Gran Fury, 440 cid, Wichita Kansas, ex-Highway Patrol Interceptor.

I used to think that the following could be used: 70 Torino, 71 Mach, 69 MD Javelin, 69 Nova...but nothing compares to the original Aussie road warrior.

I am 24 saw BTD first in 1990 was hooked on it, I saw MM1 a few years later and after that saw the RW on TV.

I remember being at a Fairgroungd and there being a Mad Max ride I presume it was based on BTD and you walked through maze type corridors and then there was a slide down at the end. Its all a bit hazy now on how I remeber it does anyone else remember this?
Pray hes out there!!

I've made 37 revolutions around the sun.

I first saw MM2 in 1982 at the $1 theater. I was on a date with my future wife. She hated the movie, lol. She actually asked if we could leave.....silly girl. We stayed.

MM1 came along in about 1985 when the video tape rental business was in full swing. i just happened to see it and read the cover to find out about it's connection to Road Warrior

The tetralogy has struck a cord in me that resonates to this day.

I'm 28, first saw RW in 82 or so on HBO. Mom caught me watching it : "That's not appropriate, turn it off" - "But Mom, Dad's allready let me watch it twice." - "Oh, Fine I give up!" Hooked ever since. I "first" saw MM1 a couple of years later on video and remembered parts of it. Don't know when I actually first saw it, though I'm sure my father introduced me. Have been perpetually $20k away from a replica of my own, but someday....Oh yes, It will be mine. Favorite "car" was probably my old '78 Bronco. God I loved that truck. I'm quite fond of my current ride: '80 Fairmont 302 H.O. roller motor super sleeper.
