So, does this mean we can expect Aussie Ford turnout to be good at Carlisle's Ford Nats in '04? I can't make Dearborn, but I got to go to Carlisle last summer. It was really cool to meet the Horners & the other Falcon owners in attendance, and to catch up with fellow "Noo Yawka" Mark S.
I can probably fit Carlisle '04 into my calendar next summer; we'll just have to see who's going. It's always nice to put faces & voices with the screen names.
"Y'know - piece from here, p-piece from there....it just sorta happened, Max."
We're probably never going to Carlisle again, at least I know I'm not, after the way they treated us last year. It's doubtful anyone will attend again, unless a local Falcon owner shows on his/her own. Dearborn is a once in a lifetime event. A Ford or Falcon enthusiast would have to have a pretty good excuse not to attend this one. I know you do. Congrats again.
When does that second Monday of the month car cruise start in Latham? Next month, isn't it?

What happened to you at Carlisle? I was under the impression that fun was had by all. Was this the event orginizers that rubbed you wrong? what's the scoop?
In 2001, they let us show our cars with no charge and supplied us a tent and video equipment to show Bathurst races and a great Mad Max " cars/Interceptor" only looped video clip, made by Evan. They told us we had the same deal for 2002 till about a month before the show and then they told us we had to pay for everything. Now, we weren't asking for tropyies or to be judged or anything that would cost them money. I only went because I told a lot of people I would. It cost me about $500 to make that show. Then when the 2002 event was over they tried to imply that we "lost" their tent that we paid close to $200 to rent. ( They found it later, they "lost" it ) Paying to attend a car show with one's car for display is a sore spot for me as it is. If it wasn't for the guys bringing cars, there would be no show and they have the nerve to charge you $40 big ones just to get it in the door so they can make money off you. Plus, they advertised on the internet/radio and newpapers that we were attending. If the money goes to a charity, I have no prolbem with it, but these guys are just out to make money and they're not men of their word. They offered us the same deal as the year before and they should have stuck to it. They even Allan Moffet to attend. All he wanted in return was just plane fare for himself and a friend and they wouldn't do it!!!! All they would do is pay his fare. Nothing else. Unreal. Like I said, I'll never go again.

P.S. When my car did win a trophy at the end of the show ( in 2002 ) , I told them to shove it right up their asses. God's honest truth, just ask the boys that were there.

I live about 45 minutes from there and attend most of the shows, it just happens that every year the Ford show is on the same weekend as a race I attend. This was the first year I would be able to go due to where the dates fall on the calendar.
I'm sorry you had that experience, but I cannot say it is unique. Having been a vendor at the Import show for the last 8 or so years I can tell you they don't treat us much better. For the money they rake in they could do a lot more. I'd just love to see an Aussie car or two in the flesh. Australia is too far away (distance and $). I guess that box in life's list of things to do will remain unchecked for awhile.
Well, do have fun at the 100 event and take lots of pictures for the rest of us. Heaven knows the mainstream press won't show your cars; we'll get another bunch of Mustangs and Model A's in the mags.
"We're really gonna get it this time--he had his indicator on."
Tom Nuss lives pretty close to you. Why don't you set something up with him? I know he'd love to show his car to someone who'd appreciate it. You can always come and see mine but I live about 200 miles from Carlisle in NY.
Here's an article that was in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords a few years ago on my car. Hopefully after Dearborn, a few magazines over here will do stories on the guys over here. A bunch of magazines in Australia are covering the Dearborn evernt as well as the ABC.
