Mad TV

Post by meat_popsical »

Last week on TV, I saw 2 different shows talk about mad max. Channel V (Australian Pay TV music channel), had 2 of the host's goto Silverton pub and they talked about mad max. There was also a standard XB coupe with just a blower, which the 2 host went for a ride in, and if you've seen "welcome to where ever you are", the hosts played the lemon in a funnel game:).

Then on channel ten (Not sure on the shows name?) they had a list of the Top 5 best ever car chase scenes in a the moives, and MAD MAX 2 was ranked.........#1!!!!!! Mad Max 2's tanker chase at the end of the movie is the best ever chase scene in all the movies ever made.

the coupe at Silverton has a fake blower, and the tanks are only 1/2 size (ie they don't go into the cabin, and are cut short at the rear window) . When I was there last September, a few of us were talking to the owner about it, he said that rego restrictions stopped him from running a real blower, and at that stage it also had a stock front end - given the condition of the road from Silverton to BH, it is hardly surprising. Any nose cone would be wiped out very quickly - its a hell stretch of 26 km of 'woop-di-doos' that I have never seen the like of anywhere else in Oz.

Max knew what was in store when he volunteered to drive that tanker.

Is there some bizarre significance to 'Meat popsicle' or is it just my sick mind Image

From what I could see on tv there were no tanks, and it had a normal front.(No monza front end).

And as for 'Meat popsicle' that was just a funny scene from the "Fitfth Element" movie and sounded like a kewl name:)

"Meat popsicle" is a reference to suspended animation (ala-'Demolition Man') or that crazy cult that freezes it's memebers bodies after death. Another version is 'corpsesicle'.
