Lost in Space

Deep Impact

Battlefield Earth

All of the Road Warrior rip-offs of the 80s

The Phantom Menace (excepting the Darth Maul fights)

And I agree, Armageddon is sh*t (though I have been lucky enough not to have seen it)

I think it's name was Outland or Outpost or something and it starred Sean Connery. Bor-ring.

Starship Troopers. It is by far the worst scifi/action movie EVER. I hate myself for watching it and not drinking myself retarded afterwards to force it out of my memory.

JEEZ! You guys are picky. While those movies are not exactly Academy Award winners, for the most part, they are not that bad. They are just popcorn entertainment. Battlefield Earth and Starship Troopers were definite disappointments compared to the books. And Outland is a decent movie. If you judge the quality of a movie by how fast paced it is, then you probably wouldn't be happy with what are generally considered some of the best movies ever. Sometimes slow and moody are what the story needs. Besides, "entertaining" is not the same as "good".

Now, having gotten off my soapbox, my vote for worst is "ZoneTroopers". Even "Short Circuit" (as awful as it was) is more entertaining.

I didn't much like "Red Planet" (I think that's what it was called).

But I have no taste and will sit there and watch all the Planet of the Apes flicks.

To be fair, we should really be going by decade. The 50's had some really bad movies. Like three guys sitting at a table and a microphone with a curtain behind them that's supposed to be a spaceship.

Ah, but you must have taste, you seem to be referring to the original series of movies, not the "Tim Burton must have been comatose" remake. And "Red Planet" wasn't bad so much as it wasn't good. Decent soundtrack, though.

As for 'doing it by decade', while the 50's had some pretty bad stuff, and in some cases, just plane weird, at least they can say they had nothing to really compare to. By the mid 80's, there was no excuse for patently 'bad' movies. I wanted my money back after seeing 'Zonetroopers'. Now that I've thought about it, I'll have to include "Future Kill", literally a cross between 'Alien' and 'Animal House" , complete with the prep fraternity and the Neidermeyer clone. Gives me shivers, for all the wrong reasons.

You know, I've never seen the Tim Burton one. I don't get out of the house much. :(

I do like some 50s stuff. Good drinking movies!
