H'lo there Karen (That is if You read this)

Just wanted to compliment the costume & make a couple of coments..

First it's nice to see someone other than historical reenactors making anything from maille.

Are your rings butted or Riveted?

I'd guess butted, if you used mostly aluminum.

I'm still partway through a Hauberk (Mid thigh length 3/4 sleeve maille shirt)with 3/8 inch diameter 17 gauge galvanized electric fence wire.

I can see why you'd go with aluminum just from a WEIGHT standpoint.. Although, in these parts, the aluminum is half again the price of steel..

If ya dicide to do anouther Maille project of anykind, give me a holler & I'll send you some links to some speciallists. Tools & materials to save a bunch of time..

First up ... a wild costume ...

I was speaking with a work collegue the other day who did standby props on MM BTD and he mentioned that he was the one who sourced the material for Aunty Entity's costume.

Apparently it was not chainmail at all but a handbag mesh ... lighter for Ms Turner to carry and giving the impression of ye olde chainmail.

I will be seeing this fellow later today as I have to be safety officer on a shoot he is working on so I'll find out as much as I can for you.

XAMan,

That sounds like interesting info. This bloke couldn't get you Norma Moriceau's address or phone number, could he? I'd really love to have a chat with her.

Let me know for sure, and I'll see about putting the info up on the Costume Sector.
