I believe that generally heroes are ordinary people who get placed into situations where they are called upon to extraordinary things, things that push themselves to the limit. They are often heard afterwards saying they just did what anyone else would have done in the same situation. Rarely do ordinary people PUSH themselves into these types of situations, too much to lose, too much stress the old 'what if I fail' questions.

This weekend I met a different kind of hero. Someone who pushed himself to the limits for the benefit of others. I am taking about Scott Smith. A guy who kept going when others would have stopped. He had the same idea that many of us had, but he made it happen.

Thanks to the efforts of Scott and Peter Barton ordinary guys like me, got to hook up with memax, max2, wrinkles, dafax, Dave H, Lindi, Garth, Ian, Emil, Dennis, George, Kim and countless others who share a common interest.

In a town where on one side we saw the worst of human behaviour, on the other we saw it at its best, people getting together and doing things for each other, not just themselves.

For those who have met Peter and Scott no explanation is necessary

For those who havent met them, no explanation is possible

Thank you Peter. Thank you Scott.

As nelson has said above all the people above have pulled off the greatest fan event ever. All of us were welcomed with open arms with all the time in the word to talk when we wanted to ask something. This weekend will live with me for the rest of my life thank you Scott, Peter, Ian, Emil, Dennis, Kim, George and every other person who had anything to do with this event. I've made new friends and experienced something that will never be forgotten. This was a huge event for an awesome film with the most fantastic organisers and crew a person could ever wish to meet.

Thanks again Scott and every one involved and bring on the next............

Good Call Nelson. Mega effort from Scott & Peter. As well as being about acknowlging a great Australian movie the whole weekend for me was meeting all the great people who went out of their way to get there - hardcore mad max fans.

After working very hard of late, I found, like most people there, that I totally forgot about work and all of life's little problems and just really became a part of the whole fantastic event - of course, it all seemed to end to soon.

See you (like we saw the nightrider) at the next one................
