Perth Mystery Car

Post by Intceptbuilder »

Hi All; (From Gordon in Perth).

I was driving across to meet Grant to pick-up the Black interceptor for John (in Washington) on Saturday Morning.

I pulled up at the lights next to that Perth Yellow tri colured mystery car!

The driver of the mystery car was about 50 years old I would reckon. So most likely into the Fords back then in the 1970's era also.

Ha Ha I wound down my window and said "Hey MAX how ya doing!"

Anyhow I asked if the driver was a Mad Max fan he said he was, I was in my red coupe, so I said follow me for about 2 minutes and I reckon you will find it interesting. (We were only one set of lights from the Replica).

He said "Na I have to be some place, to do some thing".

I said "Trust me , you will be VERY interested, it will only take 5 minutes and you can be back here!".

He said "no to busy".

"No worries see ya then!"

I hope he was busy.. he will never know what he passed up!

Gordon,

Having actually visited Bill in Oregon and photographed and sat in his replica; Drooled over the pictures of your replicas ---- I can totally agree with you. He really did miss something. Sounds like a new Interceptor is coming to Washington. I'll look forward to seeing it on the road when it arrives. I LOVE the Interceptor Design!!!! It's just a Bad Assed Sexy Beast!

I had to drive for 4 hours one way to see Bill's and draft my Brother in Law along the way as a guide for the final 45 minutes in order to see an Interceptor. It was worth every moment and was the High Point of my YEAR so far! I had to talk him into it, got kicked off a Movie set, and met a group of real fans.

Well, I guess since he already drives a Pursuit Special he should be forgiven for not letting his curiosity override his schedule but I agree, 'hope he was busy.. he will never know what he passed up!' Doh! Thanks for, 'Doin' the Tell' Gordon!
