Fight or Flight

My favorite scene of the entire trilogy has Max driving the Mack.

He stops. Dog sleeps. Max checks the shells. He loads the sawed-off. He pauses, then thinks.

He is mobile, has dog, fuel and distance from danger. For a weak man this would be reason to flee.

Max shows his mettle by easing in the clutch with the bad leg. Next the camera pans to the fifthwheel and we see Max's mental answer.

Gravel spits from the spinning tandems and the truck howls doom to the unroadworthy.

As distance from start grows, the stacks send smoke signals between gearchanges.

In this one scene Max takes on the best Humungus' wildmen have to offer and he comes out alive!

Brilliant filmaking!

One of my more favorite moments in the trilogy was in "Beyond Thunderdome" the nice little in depth discussion with Max and Master, "Not sh*t, Energy!" "Call it what you like, it still smells like sh*t to me!". Of course Max has to antagonize Master by saying "And me Fairy Princess", Definitely a very humorous moment in my opinion. At work when we are in a boiler room doing work, this one guy loves to get on his radio and call out "Who runs Barter Town???" and eventually gets a response of "Master Blaster runs Barter Town." Then someone else will reply with "Say Louder", now mind you, none of these guys will admit to liking the movies, but for some reason they all know this entire scene by heart!Image

I couldn't possibly pick a "favorite". I dearly love the Sydney Ruins flyover in MM3, Max, Leaning out of the cab of the Mack to obliterate the head of the maurauder in the red Falcon is GREAT, as is the subsequent destruction of said red Falcon. the Nightrider's gnarly toes mashing the brakes of his stolen pursuit special, as Roop and Charlie careean across his path into the road sign "OOOOHHHHH, SHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIITT!!!!Image

That 'Who run BarterTown' thing is hilarious!

"Who run BarterTown?" In that condescending dogmatic tone of Blaster.. lmao.

Now I like the scene where it's a quiet peaceful morning . The Goose gets out of bed taking care not to wake her, dresses in his body armour and leaves the room closing the door quietly behind him.

He walks out into the yard to his Kwaka , sits astride it and then ...check for neutral and ..........BRRRAAAAAAAAAM the silence is shattered. Now he rolls her out onto the road with those roarty pipes echoing around the walls of the buildings taking great care it seems, letting the engine warm up. But not for long as he revs up to six grand and wheel spins away.

Fantastic
