Shifting

Shifting with the left hand in a right hand drive car in Oz seems a lot more difficult than our american right hand shifting in left hand drive cars.

Actually, it's not as bad as I thought it might be. The pedals etc are just as they should be for those accustomed to Mach 1's, Shelby's and other Mustang sportsroofs and ones feet know where they are and where to go. The shifter is easy to start out in 3rd sometimes, but a little practice makes perfect.
With manual steering, wide front tyres and tighter spaces - its a bit difficult to park and some motorists are quick to fly up on the left blind side. Glad I have that extra "incorrect" mirror!

It is not so bad. Went to Antiqua 10 years ago and drove a RHD samurai. In 1/2 hour it feels normal.

I've got a 4 speed car from Oz here in California, and it's not too bad, just a little bit of practice, and it's not really too different from driving a stick shift car from here. I did get an automatic car here first though i admit, to get used to the right-hand-drive part, which helped, and made it easier to get used to the manual trans car when it got here.
