LHD Opel Commodore GS/E for sale in SoCal
I know nothing about this car, but it sure does have that Mad Max look to it. Could be an interesting resto/mod project:

Opel Commodore is a pretty common car here in Scandinavia, sure most of them have rusted away by now but its not a rare sight on car meets and such.
But goddamn that one is expensive. A car in that condition would be around 650-1500 US, not 6500. They are getting a bit pricey, but thats asking way too much.
I´ve had a couple of these Opels, and they can make a great cheap version of the Interceptor. If you squint your eyes. At night. Behind a wall.

Somebody in a car group I'm in on Facebook said he knows the seller. He said the seller has been letting that poor car sit there for a long time, but he periodically raises the asking price. LOL.
I'm thinking this car looks vaguely like the Pursuit Special the Night Rider stole. Not a close match, but there is a family resemblance.

A little perspective/history on these things....
The car on Craigslist is/was at Opels Unlimited, a US company specializing in Opels. the cars are getting harder to find here in decent shape as the Germans keep taking them back. The Commodore was never sold here, so this car was imported at some point. The price is a little high, I guess, but try to find another one over here. There are a couple that I know of.
As to why the car has some vague resemblance to the cars in Mad Max...well, it is a GM product and GM was good at maintaining their style across many markets. For many years the Australian arm of GM, Holden, used Opel and Vauxhall (UK GM) designs and engineering. The early Monaros looked very much like the Opel Rekord. The red Monaro in Road Warrior shows a strong resemblance to the Opel Manta B when viewed from the rear. In later years, late 90's- early 00's, the Holden Commodore was pretty much an Opel and provided the base for the two door Holden Monaro which was rebadged and sold in the US as the Pontiac GTO.
It wasn't an entirely one way relationship. In the early 90's Opel built a Commodore variant called the Omega. Then they built an Omega variant called the Lotus Opel Omega. Holden supplied a stronger rear differential to handle the twin turbo 3.0l straight 6. This motor was an extended version of the 1.9l four cylinder and an enlarged version of the 2.8l 6 in the Commodore in the ad. The Lotus Opel was good for 0-60 in less than 5.5 seconds and 186mph.
There is potential in that Commodore....
