New guy building a Goose in Portland Oregon, USA

Post by PDXDave »

Just wanted to introduce myself...
I'm Dave from the states and I'm currently about 85% done with my Goose replica.
I started with a 1980 KZ1000b4 two years ago and have since turned it into a proper motorcycle and the basis for a pretty accurate Goose.
I'll post a few pics as I am able.
I'm currently in the paint booth and am getting ready for lay the last coat of clear over the decals.

Hey Dave,

Definitely post some pictures. I've got all the parts to start my Goose bike, but I have not had time to start it. I'm curious what your fairing substructure looks like and what you used for the blue cop lights. I just could not find any lights that were screen accurate, so I went with blue lens Lazerlites.
I found a perfect 77 KZ for mine, but it is so nice I dread stripping it down for the goose bike project. I hope to get going again on it soon, but work seems to get in the way of the important things in life.

Dave, in "Windows Explorer" highlight a picture, right mouse click and choose "edit"

My computer/s open the picture in "Paint" choose "Resize" and reduce the picture size.

You probably already know the above.... When I put the mouse on a picture in "Windows Explorer" it shows me a length and width. The width, works well at 350 on the website. (I noticed recently that there is a better way which makes all the pictures uniformly the same, but I don't know how to do that.)

It's hard looking at good work, misrepresented in an oversized picture.

Dave,
That looks great. Thank you for the fairing support picture. That will help me when I fabricate mine. I was hesitant to cut out the circle on the lower fairing, for fear that it would weaken the fairing. Looking at yours I will probably do it. What did you use to cut the hole?
