The Timeline of Mad Max Movies (Part 2): Fury Road

Post by Taipan »

Is Fury Road a Sequel? A Reboot? A Revisit?

WATCH ON YOUTUBE

In Part 2 of the Mad Max Timeline videos I'm explaining what Fury Road really is.

Check it out, let me know what you think and please subscribe and comment if you like that video.

Sincerely,

Good video! Nonetheless, the comics have been endorsed by G. Miller. Therefore, this timeline could be considered canon:

Mad Max - Mad Max II - Mad Max III - Comics - Mad Max: Fury Road.

Miller is staying ambiguous for understandable reasons: it is clearly anti-character development regarding Max (who basically, after MM3, becomes an inferior version of Max in MMII).

Agreed, the comic books are canon but they form an alternative timeline (as opposed to the original timeline created for the original trilogy).
Both of the timelines are valid.

Put a big smile on my face when I saw this pop up over the weekend. Absolutely delivered once again. Fascinating stuff that makes sense after years of noise. So much is explained.

I feel they could have easily linked it all up too. They could have just made Max a madman who grew up believing he was the Max from various campfire stories. This would have given him a complete crisis of identity upon meeting the Vulvalini and motivation to go back to where he'd come from, plus would have created a mystery over who he really is. Oh well.
"Wrong, we fight for a belief. I stay."

Thanks MWFV8!

I can imagine people bitching about the new Max not being the Max at all, just some guy that took on his persona, like those copycat Batmans in The Dark Knight.

I'm a little late on this, but wonderful job here Taipan! I just watched them, great videos!!

Can you help me(/us) on one thing? I've always wanted to see costume test of Mel Gibson for Fury Road. I mean, costume test must have take place with Mel during his time on the project. I'm dying to see those pictures, if they exist, for decades! Do you know if such pics exist and can you have access to those? Thanks a lot!
