I'm a teenager and I've been thinking about creating a replica interceptor, but I've already got one old project that my father and I are doing together. I'd rather not have two huge projects going on. However, I'm looking to buy myself a daily driver that I can use, not a classic. I was thinking about turning that newer daily driver into an interceptor replica on a budget, and I was wondering what kind of car you guys thought might look the best for it. I know it won't be anywhere near perfect or anything like that, it's just meant to be a sort of tribute car that I could drive everyday.
I've got a few requirements for it that kind of limit what I could buy. First, it needs to be front wheel drive. I live pretty north, in Iowa, where I need to drive during the winter. Rear wheel drive really isn't the best for that, so it needs to be front wheel drive, so I can drive it all year round. Second, it needs to have airbags. My parents won't let me drive anything without them, sadly. Honestly, that's about it, I can customize the rest of it myself.
There are a couple I've been looking at, like these cars that are relatively close to me. It's a 1992 Dodge Daytona, which is FWD and has airbags. The bodylines seem like they might be close enough, the front looks somewhat similar, and for a modern car, it looks about as close to a 70s muscle car as I can find. What do you guys think?
If you guys have any ideas of a car I could buy that might make a good tribute car, I'd love to know. Thanks!
