If Fury Road Is So Good

Post by lsttype »

Not trying to start a war here. Look I like the visuals of Fury Road and I thought for the most part that the vehicles were cool but I have a simple question. How come it won't hold my kids attention and yet all 3 of my kids are absolutely captivated by the first 2 Mad Max films? I mean Fury Road is all action and yet my kids get board and walk out of the living room after a while of watching it. My 2 older kids consider it ridiculous and keep asking where does the gas come from and what do they eat? However they seem to really get into the story of Mad Max and they go crazy for The Road Warrior.

My kids do get into the Mad Max story. They are interested because he is married and has a kid. Not making any of this up. I took the older 2 kids to see Fury Road and it didnt go well. Call me a troll if it makes you feel better. I think Fury was decent definetly better than Thunderdome. Just posted an honest question on opinions on why the original 2 movies seem to facinate them but not Fury Road when it definetly had more action.

The fanboys/girls don't handle criticism of their movie well, I've noticed.

I agree with your take 100% and so does my imaginary son. I have some additional issues with the film as well, but overall it was good enough for me to buy the DVD. My imaginary son wants the video game for Christmas.

You think disagreeing with OP makes everyone a fanboy of Fury Road?

I'm in no shape or form a fanboy. I prefer the original trilogy to that for various reasons, but reading the OP I was thinking when his kids would yell "no Mel no Max" at the cinema. They kept asking where the gas came from when it's revealed within 10 min that there is Gas Town. Or where the food comes from despite War Boys yelling out they're hauling produce? I have my doubts those kids even paid any attention to the movie, let alone enjoy the first Mad Max more - which is incredibly slow and aged by today's standards. I'm not buying any of that.

I think calling the OP a troll and a liar for stating an honest opinion you don't happen to agree with makes you look like an overly defensive fanboy/girl.

As if the OP has been hanging around since 2006 just to piss you off by pretending to have kids who don't like FR as much as the first two films.

With 37 posts in almost 10 years that might as well been the case.

I remain skeptical because it is kind of my job here to be like that especially after what bullshit happened in here before Fury Road dropped and how many people fell for trolls.
But whatever, carry on.

Not everyone is a prolific poster.

To be honest, this board used to be plagued with actual trolls who drove away quite a few members... myself included.

People come here for fun. When it ceases to be, they leave.

Edit: typed this before I read your entire post.

We both remember that bullshit, then. :D

I don't think this is such a case, though.
